WWE seems to be going through a cool period right now. I'm enjoying some stuff, such as everything Jericho. The main event scene on Smackdown has been good with AJ, Ambrose and Ellsworth.
RAW gets really boring. The Cesaro and Sheamus angle has been good. Jericho and the list is great. Rusev is always good. Reigns is still struggling. The Owens - Rollins feud hasn't been great, and I'm kinda sick of being beat over the head with the womens' revolution. I'm cool with high profile womens' matches and them getting a lot of attention, but I don't want to be reminded about it every time Charlotte or Sasha does something. WWE always have to hammer everything into the ground.
Goldberg cut a good promo but I still don't care at all about the Lesnar match. Not sure when Lesnar's deal ends, but I just want someone to beat him and we can forget about Suplex City.
Also got to mention the Miz, he has been the best IC champion in a long time. That match with Ziggler a few weeks back was really good.

I've only really half been paying attention to WWE for a while now, and even I can remember that Charlotte lost a tag match, on a PPV (don't ask me which one), to Sasha and her mystery partner who turned out to be Bayley. Yet they are trying to push Charlotte as undefeated on PPV. Can you explain that one to me?
I find all of WWE's storytelling uninspiring at the moment. It says something that we're more invested in some random chinless jobber than all the countless superstars on their roster. It all blends into a formless mush even if it somehow results in some good matches. Having 2 world champions (men, women and tags) was a really poor decision in that regard. There would be a lot more intrigue if Owens, Rollins and Foley were squabbling amongst themselves whilst trying to capture the World Title from AJ & Smackdown on the few opportunities they get.
Total saturation.

Yet they are trying to push Charlotte as undefeated on PPV. Can you explain that one to me? They have clarified that her streak is only in singles PPV matches. It's something to go with I suppose. If they build up a good babyface going into WrestleMania against Charlotte and her big match streak it should be a good angle. I agree that they have too many titles. When I first heard they were doing another split I thought they would split the titles between the shows. Like you mentioned, I would also be much more interested in big PPV matches if it was a RAW guy trying to win the world title in a rare chance against the champion from SmackDown. It would add many more layers to the angles. The Miz has hinted at leaving for RAW before during his angle with Daniel Bryan. If Miz were to ditch SmackDown and take the IC title with him, that could open to door to some interesting storylines with SmackDown trying to reclaim the title. It seems SmackDown is at least trying go in some different or less obvious directions, but RAW is still a 3+ hour drag. I think I feel like this often at this time of year, but I just want to see the Rumble at this point. And I want Kofi to win it this time. I'm sick of all the obvious guys winning. Kofi and New Day sneaking to a Rumble win and marching on to WrestleMania to challenge for a world/universal title would be refreshing and enjoyable.

I wanted Kofi to win the last Rumble, and that... well that didn't happen. Seeing as they're back to 2 World Champs they could go in a few different directions for the next one. I've got a feeling it might be Cena though.
I find this "streak" of Charlotte's a bit odd then. Now Asuka, Asuka has a ridiculous streak going on. According to that Cagematch website, she last lost any kind of match (a tag) back in May, so she's 54-0 since then. In singles matches she is 92-0 in WWE/NXT.
Miz and Daniel Bryan feels like an alternate-reality Stone Cold vs Mr McMahon. GM Dan is belittling Miz at every opportunity yet Miz somehow finds a way to win when it counts (at any cost) and be a thorn in Dan's side. I mean, Dan is still a Face and Miz a Heel in all of this, but the waters are definitely muddy. You'd think they are building to a match.
They are going to beat Ellsworth into the ground until we're sick of him, aren't they?
I am somewhat interested in Survivor Series despite everything (maybe because all 38 titles aren't being defended). I'm thinking Goldberg is going to win by shenanigans. I'm also guessing that Ellsworth distracts Strowman in the Mens' match, chases him to the back and he gets counted out. Wouldn't surprise me if they shifted the Cruiserweights to Smackdown, dumb stipulation. I want it to be Becky alone vs Charlotte, Sasha & Bayley and to somehow survive when those other 3 can't get along. Smackdown always wins these interbrand things, so I'm guessing SD wins the women's & tag matches and Raw wins the men's.

Yeah, this ongoing feud has been one of the best things about the new SmackDown. They aren't going all in on it, just revisiting it every other week, so it's hard to tell where the whole thing is going, if anywhere. I've been thinking that they haven't closed the door completely on Bryan returning, so if he was allowed to return they have the Miz match sitting there for whenever they want. Got to say, the Miz has had a really good year. Not overexposed, but always at the top of his game and good to watch. Launched halfway to hell on Sunday, beating AJ in a ladder match by Tuesday. You got to give it to him, he is a resilient little worm. I just hope they don't have him turn on Ambrose for no reason. Remember they did that with Colin Delaney back in WWECW. Once he turned on Tommy Dreamer there was nothing left for him to do. Also, Ambrose on SmackDown, especially dressed as the Mountie, was hilarious. Spear! Spear! Jackhammer! 1,2,3. I had no idea how the match was going to go, but if I had to guess I was thinking they would do something screwy too. The way they did it was really good. Much needed as well. Seeing Brock get destroyed like that put the rest of the roster over with Goldberg at the same time. Well, it will if he sticks around for a few more matches and gives some of the rub to the regular guys. Not sure how long Goldberg is planning on staying around for, but I'm cool with him popping up here and there because he has been excellent since returning. I love the short and forcefully to the point style of promos he has been cutting, and that one minute match has made him look "the man" again already. Just don't build him up for Roman Reigns to knock off. That's all I ask. It isn't going to work so stop trying. Also just got to say again that Chris Jericho is as entertaining as ever right now. He just gets it.

No matter what happened in that match there would have been pregnant doging, but I've seen a lot of "he should have given a new guy that rub" and "it devalues Brock ending the streak". I can understand the complaint to a small extent, but the end of the streak was 2 1/2 YEARS ago. It's ancient history in wrestling terms. The time to pay that off was with Roman at the following Wrestlemania, and they decided not to pull the trigger which was not neccesarily a bad idea. I don't think there's any "rub" left to give or at least it's not going to be much, so Goldberg was the right choice. It's not like he dominated him really - Goldberg has 2 moves, Lesnar was dumb enough (& overconfident) to turn his back and walk right into one of those 2 moves and the match was over. The cocky heel got his comeuppance to a conquering babyface. Perfect booking.
He's coming back for the Rumble and I can see the obvious route is setting up another Lesnar match. If they do go that route then I would have him beat Lesnar for a 3rd time. Fuck him. But really they should be setting him up for Kevin Owens, a chickenshit heel with the Title. I would be down for Cena vs Goldberg as well if they can figure out how to get there.
Ellsworth and Woods' reaction to making the list were the best. Such an amazingly corny shtick which Jericho makes work.

So how does this year rate for you?
While there has definitely been some good parts of the product I have been underwhelmed and kinda put off at times. I've loved AJ's whole first year. The Miz rising back from the ashes. Chris Jericho. Things like that. However, there has been too many moments when I've wondered why I am even watching. WrestleMania as a whole was a bit of a dud, but that Ambrose v Lesnar match really annoyed me. Such a let down after looking forward to it for so long. It has been good to see the women given a chance. Even though RAW has beaten the Charlotte v Sasha feud into the ground, I'm still glad we get proper feuds and matches with the women regularly. Becky v Alexa on SmackDown has been good. SmackDown has been better than RAW but that's not even surprising.
I suppose I'll get excited for the Rumble in a few weeks, but after the past two or three crap Rumble matches I'll be looking forward in hope, not expectation.

The baseball season is 162 games long. To me, WWE is now like the baseball season. There's just so much that it's literally impossible to follow all of it. We have 3 hours of RAW, 2 of Smack, zillions of PPVs, jobber shows, NXT, Talking Smack, visit the Website, youtube exclusives... it really is more like a sports league now, but in a bad way. I think it's actually impossible to do a cogent storyline like Mcmahon/Austin now because it would just get swamped by all the other bollocks going on. Their storylines haven't been great in the first place which doesn't help. They have tried a little too hard to break ground with Sasha and Charlotte, when really all they need to do is give them the time and prominence they would give the men and not make a big deal about it. They gave the women a good chunk of time at Wrestlemania and they ended up having the best match on the card. I have been more impressed with Becky than the others because she is a great Face and she has done more despite being given less. They have done so many Rumbles now that you wonder how much you can freshen it up, although the fact Goldberg is in it makes it a more interesting prospect. Goldberg squashing Lesnar was one of my favourite moments of the year.

I have totally fizzled out with wrestling the last month and that is the reason why. Too much to keep up with. I don't think I've seen any WWE since the last PPV and I have no idea what is going on. Haven't read any news, or watched any clips, or anything. I actually don't even mind. I'm planning on watching the Rumble and going into it with little knowledge of current events is making me look forward to it a lot more. The last wrestling show I watched was Wrestle Kingdom at the start of January and I think Okada vs Omega has ruined me.
Yeah, I agree with all of that. It is WWE though, so I'm sure most people expected them to go the route they did and try to hammer their message home. The Sasha - Charlotte feud to me just solidified my belief that Becky is the best female wrestler they have. Becky has been the core of a fun and developing division on SmackDown since moving, and Sasha and Charlotte were just ticking boxes of 'first time ever historic matches' before they finally finished with the feud.
So I'm looking forward to the Rumble. Not too sure what to expect, but not watching WWE for about a month has been refreshing. I just hope I don't end up jaded again after one event.
I guess I'll make a pick for the Rumble, and I'm gonna go with... Big E.

I've been catching snippets here and there, so I roughly know the main stories. Owens and Jericho are trying to stop Roman Reigns from happening. Undertaker can't make up his mind which show he wants to be on. John Cena invoked the "I'm John Cena" clause which automatically grants one a title shot. Mickie James randomly showed up to randomly help Alexa Bliss. Goldberg is still a thing in 2017. So I've got the gist of what's going on, but don't ask me for any details or how good the matches have been.
Funnily enough, this year's Rumble is the most intriguing in years. I checked the betting odds a couple of days ago, no clear favourite and half-a-dozen front runners. I won't say who. I'm going to watch, but I am going to avoid websites and bookies over the weekend (I won't be watching live, will have to be Monday evening).
I have seen on the newz sitez that they are planning on doing a four-way for the women's title at Wrestlemania - Charlotte vs Banks vs Jax vs Bayley. If they do an elimination match, and the final 2 are Charlotte and Bayley, that would seem to be the perfect time for Sasha to turn heel on Bayley, just as she's about to win the match.

One of the better Rumbles of recent years, I thought. The anticipation of GOLDBERG was great, and then he dumped Lesnar like a jabroni which was an AMAZING moment. Goldberg and Undertaker facing off was good stuff too. And then Roman Reigns comes out at #30 to stink up the place. Why on earth are they still trying with this guy? I don't think he sucks or anything (far from it), but what is so amazing about him that justifies the amount of effort they are putting into him? They should have brought Corbin out at #30 to do exactly what he did. I kinda liked Orton winning, it's just out of leftfield enough to sell the unpredictability of the match.
Oh, and Corey Graves' irrational (?) hatred of Enzo Amore and his glee when he had to come out to face Lesnar was hilarious. Keep running Enzo!
I also thought Cena vs AJ was a great match. Honestly, would have been fine with either outcome, but Cena just going "fuck it" and hitting a bunch of AAs to make absolutely sure AJ stayed down was a good finish. Cena's an old dog now, and that move doesn't have quite the impact it did in his pomp, so he has to adapt. I think that's a pretty clever piece of storytelling.

I also hate Enzo. I doubt it will be long until Enzo and Cass are heels because people will surely get sick of them soon enough. What was that thing we used to have, the Snitsky-o-meter? Well, Enzo is a solid -5 on that thing.
I am loving Neville as the King of the Cruiserweights. That match with Jack Gallagher at the PPV was really good. The rest of it was OK, but I'm not sure why they built Braun all the way up for Roman. I'm not surprised, just felt they could have done more with such a good monster heel.
Goldberg vs Owens went about as expected. Are they really going to have Goldberg and Lesnar main event WrestleMania with a 5 minute match?
I'm not caring about Rollins vs Triple H at all. I just hope Joe ends up with his own match, and not as Triple H's run-in guy.
Also, I'm hoping they save Neville vs Aries for WrestleMania. That could steal the show if they get enough time.

Are they really going to have Goldberg and Lesnar main event WrestleMania with a 5 minute match? Nah, with a 2 minute match. It would be funny if they did the same match they did at Mania XX, except this time we'll like it, damn it! I am actually interested in this match, partly because it could be short, but also because it is unpredictable. The Internet seems to think this is where Lesnar gets one over, but I really don't see it for a few reasons. First, Goldberg is the Face and Lesnar is the Heel. Seems obvious to point it out, but the narrative suggests that the Face will conquer the Heel once and for all at the big show. Second, does Lesnar really give a shit about jobbing at this point? Really? I don't think there is a lot of mileage left there, and he's getting paid serious coin whatever they decide to do with him. Third, I would use Goldberg to put over Strowman at the PPV after Mania. Goldberg can give a promo about how he had a hell of a last hurrah. Strowman can hold the belt and Reigns can chase him for it for the summer feud. They can decide who is going to be Face and Heel in that feud nearer the time, because Reigns is going to be booed out of the building against Undertaker. I guess what I'm saying is if I can get some good odds on Goldberg I'll be putting a couple of quid on him just for fun. I also don't care about Rollins vs HHH. I can see this match being long and tedious. I know some people thing Cass has upside, but for me Enzo and Cass just seem like the archetypal mid-card act. Heel or Face. Enzo is an obnoxious little turd, so obviously he is a Face. I am looking forward to Sasha murdering Bayley, and am interested in seeing how she does it. If they are serious about treating the women as equals then she should chuck her through a barbershop window, put her in a casket and set it on fire or crack her in the skull with a sledgehammer. I think Wrestlemania is going to be 11 hours long this year
