You know, if Cena had beaten the Shield 1-on-3, there would have been no end of pregnant doging from the BABFICWs. So they've gone to great lengths to prop up this phoney Heroic Face push he's been getting, rather then present a more plausible scummy character for him. I mean, there's a certain loud minority who will cheer this fucker no matter what he does.
He should have turned heel on Daniel Bryan at least two months ago, is what I'm saying.
But yeah, fuck him. I hope he comes back as a part timer just to make him even more of a hypocrite.

Lmao! I was saying the same thing! When I was reading today about everything that happened and they mentioned how he wasn't on raw and went home, I stopped for a second and thought, well shit, he wasn't on raw. I totally didn't even notice. But I'm not at all surprised. Punk had a terrible attitude. Someone tweeted to him how well his match with Seth Rollins was a few weeks ago and he responded with no, the match sucked and then said he's tired of being on the road. He's always been this way and he's not silent about it. Apparently the straw that broke the camels back is, he was pissed that Batista won the rumble. Ok, well guess what? You're still a top wwe superstar and the longest reigning wwe champion in 25 years and no one has forgotten that and you'll always be an upper mid carder at worst. So yeah, I guess the best thing to do is go future endeavor yourself. Come on man, at least honor the rest of your contract.

If he had a proper send off, you know the wrestling kind that passes the torch to an up and comer, that would have been cool of him I think. Because like you mentioned, he is the longest reigning champ in 25 years. His send off would have been the perfect launch for one of the Shield guys, Bray Wyatt or even Kofi Kingston. But, because he just went home Austin style, all of those guys will still be seen below the part time guys. Not everyone gets to main event Wrestlemania, unlike Punk, some guys were lucky to work Sunday Night Heat, fuck him.

I couldn't get the video to work
What's crazy is punk was not happy about facing the fucking undertaker last year. Are you kidding me?! Facing the undertaker at mania in the last 5 years is even BIGGER than the wwe world title! To me he got the most honorable spot on the card. When radio shows asked him why he wasn't thrilled about facing taker is because he likes being in matches where you can't predict the winner and everyone knew he was going to lose, regardless of the story going into it.
Fuck you bro lol. Really. I would be so humbled if someone told me taker wanted me at mania.
Now this year he's pregnant doging because Batista got the main event after not being around for almost 4 yrs and basically he's "stuck" facing triple H. Again, cry me a fucking river. That's still awesome, regardless of how much we make fun of trips. He said straight out, I wanted to be in the main event this year". Guess what DICK, so did about 40 other people that have been busting their asses for this company for years. But Jesus Christ, be happy you're going to be in an upper mid card match. Be happy you're on it at all!
They were showing a clip from total divas about how the divas, Brodus, and tensai and their opponents, all 8 of them, got bumped off mania DURING last years show. They didn't even know they got bumped Til cenas music went off to face the rock! How about 3 years ago, sheamus vs Daniel Bryan gets bumped off the card as a preshow opener last minute? A year later they wrestled for 18 seconds and Bryan didn't get to do anything or have a chance at even having a moment.
Now let's take zack ryder. Has even sniffed a wrestlemania?! How about Tyson Kidd or Jtg, you know, guys that still show up to work and you forgot they even had a job still?
The more I think about this it infuriates me. When stone cold took his ball and went home, we were all pissed! I know I was. He at least came out a few months later and said, sorry I was going through a lot and I was drunk a lot and handled that like a complete ass. He even said that recently too. However, dumb stupid motherfucks are hyjacking NXT tapings now with cm punk chants, as if the company screwed him and he's a damn hero. You know what he is in my eyes, a spoiled self entitled little fucking brat that didn't honor his contract and fucked over the same short bus clowns that are chanting his name!
Did I ever mention the fans are stupid? Because the fans are stupid

I couldn't get the video to work Now let's take zack ryder. Has even sniffed a wrestlemania?! How about Tyson Kidd or Jtg, you know, guys that still show up to work and you forgot they even had a job still? Or how about CM Punk 10 years ago? I mean, love him or hate him, this guy is probably the biggest overachiever in the history of wrestling. I think there is probably more to it than "not getting to main event Wrestlemania". I seem to remember reading that his Straight Edge schtick includes not even taking painkillers. The guy must be hurt all of the fucking time, and if he's fed up with the grind and generally not enjoying his job, I can actually sympathise with him just walking out and going home. I mean, I've done it 3 different times at shitty jobs, where I just couldn't take it any more, and there were different reasons which prompted me to finally walk out each time. Once you get into that "I hate my job" mentality, you can start taking everything the wrong way, or perceiving slights where they don't exist. Every little thing can weigh you down. I also suspect that he just doesn't know what he wants any more. Because, yeah, he ain't Austin or Hogan, but compared to everyone who's ever stepped foot in the ring, he's had a top 0.001% career. But when you set yourself goals and you hit the absolute ceiling of your potential, and you KNOW you can't go any higher, no matter what you do or how hard you try - that's a life-altering moment. For most people they realise it when they don't make the High School football team, or they get cut from some low-A baseball team, or they get passed over for promotion at work time and time again, or they don't sell enough records and have to beg on Kickstarter to fund their tour. Then they have to take stock and either settle for what they've got or try a new path. For most people this happens early in adulthood. And you know this asshole is an egomaniac, it's probably a gigantic kick in the balls to realise that, no, Cena owns you and you don't DESERVE to main-event Wrestlemania. Add in 200 dates a year, pain, injuries, travel, being away from your friends and family, asshole boss(es), and I can see how that can result in burn-out and dissatisfaction, no matter how much money he gets paid and how often he gets to drill AJ Lee. So on balance I kinda think it's for the best that he walked out. He walked out right before a Wrestlemania payday, so I'm inclined to think there's something up. But yeah, fuck his stupid fans. HE DOESN'T WANT TO BE THERE ANY MORE, don't fucking chant at the WWE to bring him back like there's some great injustice here.

I couldn't get the video to work or they don't sell enough records and have to beg on Kickstarter to fund their tour. You working that bullet point in is better then anything else anyone is going to write in this thread. I couldn't get the video to work It was two and a half hours of Punk in TNA, that TNA released on whatever day I posted that. I thought it was funny how little time they wasted getting that together.

Sorry V it's a pain in the ass to use quotes on my phone....but I also have walked out on a job or kind of flaked out early on. The worst thing about it was I let down about 5 people who easily could've moved forward without me anyway lol. Punk literally had at least a million people depending on him. He should've at least honored his contract, or not sign a new one in the first place, or at least shorter contracts. I just can't be sympathetic towards that. I AM sympathetic towards all the injuries, being on the road and missing your friends and family, dealing with stupid corporate fucks and writers, combined with the lack of sleep they must get too. That can't be easy. I wouldn't be able to handle that. That's why my current 6 month goal is becoming an operations manager for my company and not pro wrestler lol. Punk just went about getting out of all this completely the wrong way
And, if punk joins tna, just when you thought tna couldn't get more annoying, we will have to sit through pipe bombs bashing "that company up north" oh god, I can see it already

Punk really doesn't have a million people depending on him. The show still goes on.
Anyway, I agree that he should have honored his contract, but sometimes life just gets in the way of that (and I'm just a dipshit speculating on the Internet, I don't know what's really go on with him). So IF he is going through a miserable time of it, I can sympathise with walking out in a "lesser of two evils" way. I'm not saying what he did was unequivocally "right".
If he shows up on TNA in a few weeks then yeah, that would undermine all that.

Remember people thought the angle with him leaving after the "pipebomb" was real for a while, so maybe they are trying the same trick again here. If he really did leave simply because he wasn't getting everything his own way then that is really lame, but like you guys have alluded to it's probably a combination of various things that led to him storming out. This might not be too far from the truth:

Lmao that's good^
So punk was said to be in a pissy mood after the rumble and mad about Batista getting the main event spot. Then he "goes home" Monday before raw and no one notices and nothing is said. Then 2 days later it was said he quit and Vince was furious that it leaked out because he was in the process of trying to smooth things over.
Here's my take, I believe punk did "go home". I don't think that part is a storyline. But I feel like anything after him bailing on Raw could be a work. It seems like he might have told Vince, left quietly and either A: word got out and now they're working on bringing him back based off of it or B: they already smoothed things over before the story even broke out and used the internet trolling to kick off his mania storyline. If punk isn't back by the raw after the elimination chamber, I think it's safe to say it's all real because any work wwe is pulling off now would have to roll into mania

Champ shares my thoughts that Punk walked for reals. With that said, I do not like how we walked out. I am under a six year contract with my employer, and in that contract is my stipulations if I want to leave. It takes at least two weeks, but since they pay my shit I'm going to stick around to spin up the guy replacing me. Which is kinda like losing to the next in line. It's the right thing to do. And I'm a guy that hates his employer between May thru October every year.
