This week's show was pretty good
"carte blanche means Blank Cheque in trailer talk". Outstanding. Dixie was pretty funny this week. There was too much of her in the opening act though. I also noticed that she was dressed pretty sharp for once.
Aries delivered another solid match, and I'm happy that he beat Jeff without having to resort to shenanigans. After Aries painted himself as the "wrestling" guy and Jeff as the "highwire" guy, it was unusually smart booking to have him win a straight wrestling match.
It is kinda funny that Knux forgets about Brooke and Taz when saying A&8 only has three members. Still don't get why he's still propping up this corpse. The moment Knux walks out of Aces & 8s, they're over.
Kazarian's video package was hilarious. I could have watched another 5 minutes of BOBBY ROODE being badly dubbed over soundbites. I kinda want Kazarian's jacket, too. Not the trousers though.
Yeah, Magnus is definitely turning on Sting.
I already want Kurt Angle to go away. He's about 6 months away from being a fossil. Maybe he's already there.

Yeah, I loved it too. When Kaz and Daniels came out in those suits I was hoping it was going to happen ![](http://i49.photobucket.com/albums/f271/SweetRevenge791/GIf%20Photos/bth_gif.gif) and it did. LOL! The finish to Aries v Hardy was really cool. Yeah, it was actually well booked. I'm still not caring about evil Dixie. I did like that she called Bischoff a hasbeen. So maybe he won't be back. I'll be surprised if Magnus doesn't shockingly turn on Sting next week before the PPV. He'll probably go on to job to him at the PPV too. Kurt Angle was looking pretty old. So Ethan is Derrick Bateman. OK, I'm cool with Ethan. At least the PPV is finally taking some shape now.

Something I noticed this week: they did the "swooping from the sky" camera angle for Bully and Magnus' entrance, and you could see there were a TON of empty seats. And once I noticed that, I started noticing that there empty seats on the other sides too. Seriously, that arena was nearly empty. So why not run smaller venues and create a more intimate, boisterous vibe? TNA needs to stop thinking they're U2 (and Eisley, for that matter), and start pushing themselves as an alternative to that other company.
Dixie compared the Sistine Chapel to TNA Impact. How can you not laugh at that? Such a great line. Also her facial expressions during the contract signing were pretty good.
Kurt comparing Roode to himself... 5 years ago seemed like a backhanded compliment. "Yeah, you're as good as a great wrestler after he's had a shitload of surgeries and his neck is held together with duct tape and pipe cleaners. Good job, son!". I did like this segment, though. Really, Roode needs to win this match, but with the circumstances it's not going to happen.
And I liked Bully's speech too. For one thing, he kinda implied that Aces & 8s was just a means to an end rather than a thing. That at least somewhat explains why he doesn't seem to care that they've lost nearly all their members. It also highlighted AJ's limitations. Believe it or not, this was the first time I've ever thought "CM Punk would have been much better in this position right now". Of course, watching John Cena tear him a new asshole on the mic would've been even more fun, but oh well.
You'll notice I've said nothing about the actual matches this week. Oh well.

I caught Impact for the first time in maybe 7 weeks, and my big take away is the graphic design people are stupid. When they were showing AJ Styles twitter handle it was Mickie James's twitter handle.

Anderson popped up on this week's show and I thought "he recovered pretty quick". Then the commentators pointed out he's been gone two months. Fuck. Time really does fly. TNA also can't afford Police costumes, so being handcuffed by security doesn't make sense.
Bully told Bischoff to get the job done and failed. Finally. I read that Eric might be gone, so hopefully Bully will piledrive him onto the concrete soon.
Dixie is kinda growing into her role. I mean, I had rock-bottom expectations, so I guess it's not going to take much to seem good in comparison. But damn, I really don't care about most of the angles at the moment.
I also read that they're going back to a studio to tape Impact, and yet they had a really lively crowd this week. Figures.

That's good news if they are going to go back to having their shows in arenas they can fill. The Eisley comparison is a good one. The show seems to be crumbling so this is at least a positive move, even if it is a step back.

Tna actually did a good legit swerve this week! When they had the aces and eights quit on bully, I have to admit, I thought it was done. Everything leading up to it says it was over. Then when bischoff and Knux came back and attacked Anderson I was like oh shit! Tna finally got me. It was a well done segment

Then when bischoff and Knux came back and attacked Anderson I was like oh shit! Tna finally got me. It was a well done segment I suppose it was hoping for too much to see the Mafia and the Bikers gone on one show. I have to give them some credit for just ending the Mafia now, conclusively, rather than dragging it on any longer. This being TNA, I half expected last week's gauntlet match to be a "throw your opponent INTO the ring" affair. Also last week, Kazarian humorously brought up the Mystery of The Missing TV Title. Has that fucking thing been defended on TV at ALL this year? Gail Kim's open challenge has got me hoping for another Sarita sighting. I know I'm in for disappointment. I almost missed it, but right at the end of this week's show, Velvet went to Sabin's side and looked sick with worry as he lay dead on the mat. I hope he's okay. These last two episodes have at least shown some signs of life. I enjoyed several of the matches. I'm even digging Dixie, and they seem to be using her sparingly. I think Anton Chekov once said "if you say in the first chapter that there is a Dixieland match, in the second or third act it absolutely must happen".

The only thing I want to see in TNA right now is the battle to settle the great debate once and for all. Who would win in a match between Norv Fernum and Dewey Barnes?
Here is what I think. I think Dewey Barnes might just be the Ultimate Jobber. The greatest jobber I have ever seen in my life. I don't think I'd favour him in a fight against Ghandi. Norv Fernum on the other hand, seems to have a smidgen more athlete prowess to his game and a more refined offence. Therefore, I think Norv would catch Dewey doing something stupid and manage to roll him up for a 3 count at some point during what would undoubtedly be a brutal contest between these two gladiators. Norv getting the victory would cement my belief that Dewey Barnes is indeed the Ultimate Jobber. After the match they should form a tag team and challenge the Bro Mans.
Angle and Roode fighting throughout the whole show amused me. I just find Bobby Roode funny when he loses it.
I suppose it was too good to be true with A+8s. I also really thought that we had got rid of them, only for Knox and Bischoff to float back up straight away like a couple of Mick Foleys that refuse to be flushed. Maybe the next step is Anderson bringing back Devon and Festus and forming a new group to go against Bully and A+8s. The Jokers? The 52 card fuckups? Backslammin'. (I know, it's not a card game)

Whoa! I just saw this vid:
The tag team is ON!
The match will have to wait. Let the tag team roll for a while then they can do a MegaPowers-like breakup leading into next year's Bound For Glory.

The match will have to wait. Let the tag team roll for a while then they can do a MegaPowers-like breakup leading into next year's Bound For Glory. Yeah, that was the most fun squash match in a long time. So you'd think with a no-dq match, everyone would come running down to make sure Anderson wins and we're rid of the bikers, right? Right? Why are you all laughing at me? Got a good laugh out of Dixie deliberately forgetting Chris Sabin's name. I suppose they're saving the Dixieland match for the final. I'm liking her shtick (I mean, it makes a change from the usual "Diabolical Evil Genius" heel GM thing), but this segment went too long. Bobby Roode saying "let me guess, sorry about my damn luck. Real original" followed by Storm doing exactly that was pretty funny though. I think it is about time Storm came up with a new catchphrase. Gail Kim Open Challenge: 4 weeks of jobbers and then Sarita? Please? Yeah, I know, it ain't happening. Kurt has aged 10 years since going to rehab. I enjoyed the main event, and I can tolerate him beating Aries, but a prolonged super-push is going to annoy me. I don't neccessarily think that's going to happen, but I am dubious.

So you'd think with a no-dq match, everyone would come running down to make sure Anderson wins and we're rid of the bikers, right? Right? Why are you all laughing at me? Or the MEM could accompany Anderson and rid TNA of A+8s completely and forever. That was their initial goal, wasn't it? I'll be praying to the wrestling gods for an Anderson win next week, but I also think it might be to much to ask for. I've really been enjoying Roode recently. It looks like they are setting up Roode v Angle as the final of the tournament. It would make sense to have Roode win so that AJ has a heel to face off against when he comes back as the real champion. Their female division is so shallow that there isn't even anyone left who is actually on the roster for her to face. Gail, Brooke, ODB, Velvet... I think that's it. I know your boner doesn't want to hear this, but I think many of the former knockouts are quite sour on the company. Especially after the Daffney lawsuit. To TNA's credit, I am enjoying the EC3 push. I know he was on NXT for a while, but he is essentially a new, unknown wrestler who they are giving a proper push to.

It would make sense to have Roode win so that AJ has a heel to face off against when he comes back as the real champion. I was actually thinking that Roode and Angle cost each other their respective semi-final matches, leaving Jeff vs Magnus to go to Dixieland. That way you can build to another Roode vs Angle match, and Magnus can turn heel on Jeff in the final (maybe Magnus can be FACE OF THE COMPANY because it's GOOD FOR BUSINESS). That's two solid feuds for the next couple of months, leading up to AJ's return. Oh, I know, and it's a real shame. Maybe with their recent backstage changes (I seem to recall Bischoff not being enthusiastic about women's wrestling, for example) they can mend some bridges. Anyway, my boner prompted me to look up what Sarita's (I suppose I should refer to her as Sarah Stock as she hasn't wrestled for TNA in a year-and-a-half) been up to recently. Wrestling in Japan. I tried to watch a youtube clip of her wrestling and I can't watch for more than a few minutes because Japanese women's wrestling feels inherently creepy to me. Or maybe it was just that her opponent look 14 years old and was dressed like a schoolgirl. I dunno. I was kinda shocked to read that she's already 34 years old too. So I doubt the Fed would be super keen on her either. And entertaining jobbers! Why the fuck not?

Roode and Angle screwing each other over also crossed my mind. Maybe it's because I think so highly of Roode, but I think he would be the best guy for them to pair AJ with when he returns with the real belt. I suppose they could edge Angle into the feud after the AJ v Roode match.
I suppose they have to give Magnus a real push at some point and they have delayed it so much it might have to be now. I'm still not convinced though. Matt Morgan was supposed to be world champion about four years ago and that never materialised either. Thankfully.
