Punk and Rock started off 2013 VERY strong. That whole segment was great. Punk "blabbing nonsense" for 20 minutes was done so well. See 2003 Triple H, THAT'S how you do a 20 minute nonsensical promo the right way...you know, Punk was talking nonsense in kayfabe, but it made sense in real life. Just awesome
Then the Rock came in and killed it too. cookie puss was a little gay but the delivery from the Rock was great......20 hairs on your straight edged scrotum made me laugh
Cena's opening promo on Ziggler and AJ was great too. I liked how he got the wave going for the first "little penis" joke of 2013 lol
Randy and 3MB was kind of boring and pointless. But Sheamus and 3MB was fun and comical. It seems like they're trying to solidify Sheamus as a top face over Orton so they can finally turn Blandy Boreton heel
I'm sorry but Ziggler is still not doing it for me as a top heel. It kind of reminds me of when they put the WWE title on the Miz when he just wasn't ready to carry the ball. This is why they need to limit MITB back to mania and just have one guy win one briefcase that he can cash in on either champ. It's like it forces them to put the belts on guys who aren't ready by having a ppv with 2 briefcases every year
God DAMN Cesaro is strong. He basically deadlifted Khali with no jumping assist

I liked the stuff with Punk and Rock too. I really hope Punk retains the title. If they are doing Cena v Rock II it doesn't really need a title involved. Plus, even though he has been champion for well over a year now, I feel a victory over the Rock would really solidify the reign and make Punk a despised champion.
I can't really get interested in the angle with Cena and Ziggie's crew.
Sheamus going all Benny Hill on 3MB amused me.
I really like Cesaro. I hope he holds that title for many more months.
Barrett messing with Steamboat was funny. He is good at belittling people and making it funny.
Randy really is boring now. He needs to start wrestling in a Pinhead mask, or something, to get people interested again.
The UnderShielder foiling Ryback again was predictable, but still funny. In reality it was probably Brad 'Pssst' Maddox on lights. I really like Maddox. Hopefully if Christian is back soon those two can feud for the honour of being the best CLB on the roster.
Good start to the new year.

Naitch's first Raw of 2013 thoughts.
-Zigs and Cena had a strong open and a great match, probably to try to combat the BCS bowl game in ratings.
-Wade Barrett might be my favorite guy in a backstage conversation.
-Team Hell No vs Rhodes Scholars was another good match.
-Looks like Randy just took HHH's spot in destroying many lower card people at the same time.
-Barrett vs Santino was fun.
-Sheamus had me in stitches picking on 3MB.
-Ceasero vs Khali is really not that great of a match up on paper, but fuck me that finisher was impressive.
-The main event was a lot of fun. We all knew how it was going to end, but the ride there was great. Ryback actually gained some favor with me in this match, cuz that table bump on the stairs was insane.
-Kane and Bryan arguing backstage was great. Love those two.
-Kofi vs Big Show might be the shortest match to actually be loaded with story. Kofi being more aggressive and Big Show now becoming new Edge and taking every opportunity that he can to win.
-Fantastic promo out of CM Punk, loved him getting the fans to start chanting and then making fun of them. I personally feel once the Rock came out he ruined the moment. Did not care for his promo.

I have to say that since Punk (re)turned heel, I would say he's Edge levels of great now. He's the best heel we've had since Edge in 2006. The second half of 2012 solidified Punk as a future Hall of Famer

I liked when Rhodes Scholars turned on Dr Shelby instead of The Goat/BRR Shelby is a professional actor and is less believable than The Goat. Good Raw this week. Glad Steve Torres is gone. Miz was horrible, he is a complete suck as a face. Punk and Rock where great. I hate when Rock entertains me. Cena defeated two WWE superstars, a briefcase and a diva but Ryback needed two world champions to scald three NXT prospects....

The return of Dr Shelby was my favourite part of RAW. I hope he comes back periodically to assess Bryan and Kane.
Vickie really is a good sport. I mean, I'm sure she would rather not be put down on TV all the time, but she seems to take it well enough and shrug it off. She just about kept a straight face during Rock's song.
The Miz and Flair bit was annoying and bad.
I didn't know it was going to be him, but even before the music hit for the first HOF inductee I muttered something like, "go away Foley". I really just don't care for him. Triple H was right all those years ago when he said Foley is like that turd you flush over and over but just won't go away. He's the Mr Hankey of wrestling.
Barrett beating Orton made me happy.
I was also happy when Kaitlyn won the title.

What makes it work is that Dr Shelby has worse anger issues than Bryan and Kane.
I'm 100% with you on that. I never was really a "Foley Guy" to begin with. I always respected what he did and he clearly has a great mind for the business. He's even capable of cutting killer promos once in a blue. But I really wouldn't miss him if I never saw him again
I have a feeling that Miz is going to be Zigglering around for the next couple of years, meaning he's pretty much just going to be floating aimlessly as a midcarder for a good while

I have a feeling that Miz is going to be Zigglering around for the next couple of years, meaning he's pretty much just going to be floating aimlessly as a midcarder for a good while The sad part is that you didn't need to explaing what "Zigglering around" meant because I immediately understood what you meant.

LOL. I also understood what "zigglering" means.
I really liked the end of RAW this week. Heyman is such a slimy rat. And Lesnar is simply a destroyer of men. The only drawback to the segment was that is pretty much set the predicted Lesnar v Triple H rematch in stone for WrestleMania.
Where the hell did this Bo Dallas come from? He is I.R.S.'s son, so I'm willing to give him a chance. The first thing I thought of when I saw him was that he looks like the gang leader from Creepshow 2. From the tale where they kill the old couple in the shop and the wooden Indian comes to life and murders them all. That film used to scare me...
How is Alberto Del Rio a good guy again? What the hell. One minute he's killing Santa and the next he's winning the World Title and hugging fans.
I'm not sure if anyone has mentioned this before, but does Michael Cole's snorting and chortling on commentary bug anyone else. It happens during segments where the commentators shut up and don't say anything, but every now and again Cole makes this annoying noise. I generally don't mind him on commentary these days, but that is one thing that has been annoying me.
That lumberjill match deteriorated into something that almost resembled the finale of NXT Season 2.

Punk is so good now. He's finally reaching his potential and I'm looking forward to him every week. The way I feel about punk now is like he officially replaced edge on the roster. he may not exactly be the new edge but he's the reason we finally don't desperately need an edge on the roster anymore

Naitch's 1/28/13 results
Punk was Mr. Awesome Promos. I was kind of hoping he would get a match with someone like Heath Slater and just beat the shit out of him.
WTF is up with Ceasero playing the part of Jobber 2 The Stars lately. Don't like it.
Bo Dallas is like the new Maven and Wade Barrett is like the new Undertaker.
Super Cena is back and murdering the shit out of Cody.
I'm not going to fib you guys, I doozed off during Cena's entrance, missed the Shield apparently and woke up to my wife asking me what the hell I was watching and when I could get my eyes to focus, Tensi was in women's clothing dancing. I couldn't explain that shit to save my life, but I did smile.
Somewhere during ADR vs Big Show my old ass decided to fall asleep again.
Woke up during Rock vs Punk promos, Punk annihilated Rock this week.
And back to sleep with me once the commercials hit.
Lucky enough to wake up during the Heyman vs Vince stuff before it actually began. That whole segment was enthralling. Loved every second of it. I loved the Maddox stuff, loved the Shield stuff, loved Lesnar killing old man McMahon. Heyman had an MVP type night.

Heyman really is so good that he made me hate him for years. I usually appreciate a good heel, but Heyman is in a league of his own. He's on a level where I couldn't help to believe he was that slimy and actually made me mad just looking at him, and madder when he talked. It wasn't til just recently with CM Punk where I'm really just starting to appreciate just how talented Heyman is. Most people know he's really smart and a great promoter. But he also may just be the most underrated tv talent of all time and one of the best heels ever
Vince: how do you explain that?
Heyman: That wasn't me LMAO
