Like I said dude, if you're delivery is what I think it'll be like, you can definitely kill the crowd(I mean that in the best possible way). Your jokes are hilarious and they're not typical.
My band gets the same feedback your standup gets. We always get people coming up to us asking why we're opening up for bands that are 10x shittier than us. That kind of feedback is nature's way of telling you that you're cut out for this. I say keep doing these standups man. It sounds like you're on to something most other comedians aren't and that's a gift

Now I'm getting to big headed bro!
Anyways new joke alert!
The Not My Doctor Joke
So I was driving here tonight and I get stuck behind this twat whos driving abnormally slow. Great, I get my break, I get to open for Craig Robinson and all of the sudden the b!tch is killing my dreams of getting a Sitcom that will killed three weeks after it starts. I'm already pissed at ABC in my heart and shes killing my dreams. Then I notice this bumper sticker on her twatmobile that says HE'S NOT MY DOCTOR. At first I was apathetic towards her sticker. I mean seriously, who cares. Then I thought, is this broad going to see doctors that aren't her primary care physicians? And if so, why? So she can show off her sticker? Is she lying? Is this sticker about my doctor? Does she hate male doctors? I thought my life sucked but at least I'm not her life partner. Having to pay bills for doctors that aren't hers? I need a bullet and I need it in my brain pronto and if by that tiny margin of chance I survive, and I never see that sticker again, I can live a life with meaningful thoughts. And when I wake up to those meaningful thoughts, will it be her doctor I wake up too? Will that begin the cycle again?
What I'm really trying to say is lets end the war in Iraq.

If there's something I learned in the last year or two, there's a HUGE difference between having a "big head" and being confident about what you're doing.
For example, when I was in my hardcore band in 2003, I had a big head. I thought our shit didn't stink and we were on to something with hardcore material most people couldn't match. I didn't put too much thought into what I did because I felt I didn't need to. NOW when I listen back to the recording we did, I can't believe how much more I could have done with the material. The recording wasn't even that good. I don't know why I thought so highly of what we were doing. I mean, the material was pretty damn cool for hardcore fans. But we weren't on a whole new level than everyone else like I thought we were
With the band I'm in now, it's more of a case of simply just doing what I feel is right for the music and what I want to contribute to the overall demographic now. The way I see it is, I got the right guys in the band to bring the best out of me. So now all I have to do is be myself. The way to do that is
I love heavy music, so I'll play heavy.
I love melody, so I'll incorporate melody into the heavy ripping(one thing I LOVE about Killswitch. No one does it like them)
I love dynamics, so now I'll chart out all of our measure and see how I'm going to build and peak and take the listeners for a ride.
With that said, do I think my guitar tracks and bass tracks came out awesome? Hell yeah, I do. But I don't have a big head about it. The reason I think my job on the recording is coming out awesome is because for the first time in my life, I'm applying what I truly believe sounds awesome to my own material. I'm experience and confident in what I do now.
Another reason there's a line between me being confident as opposed to arrogant is because there are players I KNOW I can blow out of the water. But if I can do 10 things in music better than them and they can only do 1 thing better than me. I'll zone in on that 1 thing they do better than me and try to learn from it and still ask them questions and show me how to get better in that area. I have NO problem learning from players who are less experienced and not as knowledgable as I am.
My point is, I don't think you have a big head Naitch. I think you're finally realizing your potential and understand what you're doing and why it's better than most of the guys you gig with. It's all about experience dude. After a while, if you have a talent or knack with something, you have to eventually come into your own and realize why people see you as being better than everyone else on the card that night. Also, it helps when people keep coming up to you and expressing their faith in you and why you blow everyone else away. That's what I realized with the band I'm in now. I don't think my band is better than Kittie or God Forbid, but I understand why people felt like we were better. The bottom line is the 4 of us finally learned how to satisfy fans of what we do. That's all it really is.
And, fuck it, there's nothing wrong with having a slightly big head. Without it, you'll get stepped on. Just always keep yourself grounded and remember what it took to get you there. That's why I give even the shittiest bands a handshake after their set. At least they gave it a shot and I can appreciate that. I won't ever look down on people I know we're better than
That one confused me a little because it sounds like a total delivery joke that you have to see you perform. But I think I get it.
Was the punchline of the joke basically meant to make no sense on purpose? Like you took a random bumbersticker and managed to turn it into a war joke? I didn't know what I was reading at first and I laughed at the Iraq part simply because it had nothing to do with it. So I'm guessing that was the point?

Yeah its in the delivery. I take you down one path and then I pull a 180 for the punch line.

I'm sure someone video taped it on a cell phone or something. I can't find it on youtube anywhere. I would like to watch the video just to watch myself for improvement reasons. Champ's band is on youtube though and those guys are tight. Heres a sample of they're tasty metal www.reverbnation.com/karascene I feel like Mick Foley. Handing out cheap pops and putting over other people in my own thread. ![:)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/smiley.png)

And unlike Mick Foley your cheap pop went to something useful.

Thanks dude. The first 3 are more right. After that they're like garage days Unfortunately the quality on these sites make me want to ![:'(](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/cry.png) . It's just god awful how they manage to make us sound like we paid nothing for this recording. You REALLY need to hear the actual disc when it's done. The highs and lows are so much more balanced out and CRYSTAL clear. The problem is officially our engineer these days. Aside from my 2 weeks hiatus, he's been pretty flaky for 2 years. GREAT guy but he's not on track again and that's his biggest problem
