I went for a long-ass run the other day and could barely walk for three days after it. I'm not even joking. My legs look like they have doubled in size.

When you're not used to it, it fuckin KILLS you for days. I remember my first week in the gym with free weights again, I did chest and not only did my chest hurt for a week, but my shoulders, triceps and back all hurt. Plus my hips and legs hurt from the tread mill. Now my muscles are just a bit tight the next day and I'm good after the running.
It's funny I went to the batting cages Saturday night and I'm still a little sore from it. Anytime it's something you're not used to, it fucks you up. One day in the batting cages have been ruining all my workouts this week because I've been sore. The good thing is I'm pinch hitting for a softball team for a few weeks. One guy got injured and the guys that formed the team saw me hit and asked me to hit for them. I was way better than I thought I'd be. I would be TERRIBLE in the field though simply because I my throwing arm has the accuracy of Charlie Sheen in Major League

Yeah, I was in Forrest Gump mode and just kept running. It happens.
You at the batting cages and getting picked up to play for a team reminds me of that scene it Happy Gilmore. Although, I assume you are hurting because you were swinging and hitting the balls instead of just standing there and taking them in the face.

What happened was I met some of the guys from AA there. They just recently formed a softball team and one of the guys got injured during the first scrimmage. So I started hitting and I was crushing them. Don't ask me how, after years of not going. So as I'm hitting, I hear in the background, look at this fucking guy!
As soon as I got out of the cage, the captain said to me, why the fuck didn't you join the team when I told you we were putting it together? I responded, honestly, because I thought I'd suck. He was like, seriously? You were fucking killing the ball! I said, yeah, but that sure as hell doesn't make me a good fielder lol. Then he said, well then that's perfect because we need someone just to hit for the next 4 games. You up for it?
I agreed only because I didn't take a backseat to anyone there who was hitting. That's the way I am. Unless I'm gonna fucking BRING IT, I don't want no part of anything. It's like this high expectation I've always had of myself.
Even with the gym. I refused to go to the weight room my freshman year because I was only able to work out with around 85lbs on the bench. There were guys there that were repping the big plates(135lbs with the bar) so I felt so inferior. I spent the whole summer of Freshman to Sophomore year working out by myself. When I got back to school I was able to rep the big plates for 6 reps so I felt like I didn't have TOO much to be ashamed of anymore. So I started going to the gym there. I got issues lol

I know I haven't been in this thread much but time to brag. Passed my Air Force Fitness Test today with a score of 88.33 (out of 100). If your wondering how its scored
First they measure your abdominal circumference. I got 20/20 on this. Amazing because I'm not that skinny.
Then its as many push ups and sit ups you can do in one minute. Each is worth 10 points. I scored a 5.5 on my push ups (thats 35 push ups, and I mowed my lawn yesterday so don't rag on me too much) and am exempt from sit ups due to nerve damage, 10/10 there.
Then comes the mile and a half run. Sprained ankle (from running) gave me the 1 mile walk instead. Based off heart rate/age/walk time/height/weight I scored 54/60.
I'm done bragging now. As seeing half the people taking the test today fail outright, I can't feel to good and know I have to stay on top of this shit or else. The person I was counting push ups and sit ups for didn't even get 1 of either. She probably won't stay in the military long.

That's cool. If you absolutely have to stay in shape then it's just as well you're doing so.
I've been out running quite regularly recently and eating really well so I'm feeling pretty good.

I've been an animal in the gym again lately. I've been going 6 days a weeks since the new year. I'm running 3 to 3.5 miles on the treadmill and my weight lifting strength is the best it's ever been. The only thing is I'm 220 and that's just too heavy. I was 225 and I lost 5. Aside from the quitting smoking I'm on this medicine that I take at night that makes me eat late and sometimes in the middle of the night. When I say it makes me, I mean it turns me into Angelina Love and I zombie into the kitchen and can't control myself. I have to talk with my doc about it next week. During the day I do great with the diet

If your looking to cut some weight there Champ, use an elliptical machine. I've been doing that 3-5 times a week for 30 minutes and dropped twenty lbs this year.
