Good to hear that we are all still doing well.
Champ, it sounds like you are getting that raw strength many people get when they get a little older. Even if you're not shredded, you still have a lot of fully developed muscle that has matured on your body. I worked with a Glaswegian guy over the summer who was in his forties, had a beer belly, but could bend metal bars with his bare hands. Also, a lot of boxers in heavier weight classes regularly compete into their forties as their strength usually stays with them.
Naitch, you sound like you've been doing well too. I'm going to be 29 on the 16th so I'm beginning to feel more aware about preparing myself and keeping in good shape before my body starts behaving differently. Although, my weight has been capable of fluctuating easily for some years now so I'm hoping my metabolism doesn't get much worse.
V, 164lbs? Better watch you don't disappear. That's a good idea with setting yourself a goal for the whole year. I don't go to a gym either so I'm pretty much just a Road Warrior like you. I'm really looking forward to the better weather (hopefully) returning soon and running more on grass though, as pounding the road all the time sucks. Do you use a mountain bike or a racer? I've not been on a bike for a couple of years since my last one fell to bits so I'm intending on getting a mountain bike soon and tackling some mountains again.

V, 164lbs? Better watch you don't disappear. It's weird, I haven't had a drop of alcohol in 5+ years, yet I still have a slight beer belly. I've got a (probably totally wrong) theory that if I can somehow lose enough weight for it to disappear, when I put weight back on it'll be more evenly distributed. I bought a cheap mountain bike 2 years ago, and it basically fell apart after 12 months. In fairness I did use the hell out of it in those 12 months. When I've got the time and moxie, I'll repair it. My current bike is a "hybrid", which I guess is halfway between a mountain bike and a racer. I actually find it a lot easy to bomb uphill on it than my mountain bike. I seem to get more punctures with it though. It only cost £150. Getting up at the crack of dawn in the early summer and pottering around the town and countryside is a shitload of fun.

I haven't had a drop of alcohol in over 2 1/2 years either and I feel like I'm struggling with weight loss more now. It's weird. There's a lot of sugar in alcohol too and I used to drink pretty heavily
And it's true MS a lot of older guys are better in competitions because they simply have more years of work under them. It's like anything in life. Experience is the key. I was in better looking shape in my teens and 20s but I'm stronger now than I ever was.

I think I've hit an all time fitness high now, due to 2 changes. I was gaining to much weight, by spending to much time in front of a computer (at work and I go to an online college.)
1. I took on a hippie diet. This diet is fucking EXPENSIVE though. A lot of salads (not expensive), tofu meats to substitute for real meats (they almost have it down now, the corn dogs taste like real corn dogs and the burgers aren't far off.) Green tea and all that good jazz to drink, found littered through out this thread.
2. DDP Yoga. This shit is the bomb. I lose weight and I don't feel like an old man through out my body anymore. Less hurting, recovery time isn't a concern, it's a great add to my normal work outs.
Also, it turns out DDP calls everyone who buys his Yoga DVDs (you have to purchase them through his website and you have to give him a number.) I could hear Scott Hall and Jake Roberts arguing in the background about who could drink more back when they were allowed to drink. DDP told me they live with him in his "Accountability House". Anyways, now that we're getting to that age that if you fall asleep on the couch you jack your shit up for awhile, I would recommenced this to all of you.

Congratulations, Naitch. Keep it going! ![:)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/smiley.png) That is hilarious. Cool of DDP to acknowledge and thank every one too. Are you not eating any meat at all? I didn't eat meat for a few years. Tofu is pretty good, even though I eat meat now I still enjoy tofu from time to time. I used to buy something called "Fakin", which was fake bacon. I always loved the name of that. Hey, speak for yourself. I got ID'd at the shops today. It's always weird when that happens. I'm nearing 30 but people assume I'm about 20. I suppose it's a good thing. Sorta. But yeah, I know what you mean. I definitely make more groaning noises in the morning these days. I'll check out DDP Yoga. I tried to do Yoga years ago but ended up just lying on the floor doing nothing.

I am still eating meat. I cut out red meats entirely, at least for now. I'm sticking to white meats for now, mostly turkey and chicken. I saw Fakin' while at the grocery store, made me laugh. I was looking for humus at the time, so I just passed it by. Humus might be the hardest thing to find in a grocery store. It's like whoever is stalking it figured out where to put it, where the people looking for it won't find it.
When you get your DDP call, if you order, it's cool as hell. I bit my tongue pretty hard, trying not to bring up pro wrestling. He gave me some bits of advice, he talked to me wife since I told him she was doing it with me, he answered some of her questions.
DDP Yoga also has an online site that is $20 a month or free forever if you buy the DVDs, lots of people there to motivate or help you with certain parts of certain workouts.
And, this is for MS since he has at least expressed some interest in DDP Yoga. This is more of a hybrid Yoga that traditional, for lack of better descriptor words. There is a lot of movement involved to keep your heart rate up, but isn't taxing to you, like simply raising your arms above your head. That will move your heart rate from 90 to 130 bpm. I've tried Insanity and Cross Fit and those other fad workouts, DDP Yoga is what is most right for me. Definitely at least look into it before you spend that type of money, make sure it's right for you.

That's awesome with DDP!
I'm having that "feeling old" issue too. I've been hardcore dieting for almost 4 weeks now because I just want to feel good again. I'm going to be 34 soon and I'm 5'7(5'10 in WWE height) and 211 lbs. I was 218 in January and 215 before my diet last month. It seems like it's taking really long. Then again I'm impatient and 1lb a week is actually normal lol. But also, my stomach fat trimmed down a lot so I should stop pregnant doging. I've been doing the low carb, no bread, potatoes, rice, almost no sugar diet. I'm also drinking green tea every night too like Naitch.
But the biggest problem for me with going FULL FORCE with a truly strict diet to the T is what Naitch mentioned, it's FUCKING EXPENSIVE!!! I have the desire to do it and the will too. I'm doing really well. Then once in a blue I find myself eating something I shouldn't, and don't even want to, simply because I can't afford the really healthy stuff and I'm on the go all the time these days. It can be frustrating.
I've been eating lean meat, atkins low sugar/carb bars for breakfast(which I'm trying to change up too because I don't think they're the best things to eat, but it's the easiest "on the go" food), salads, vegetables, etc.
One thing that I'm doing good with is, like I mentioned before, I'm at my top physical strength ever. I would like to drop more weight and cut down a lot and maybe one day I can do middle aged powerlifting contests lol

Those bars should be allright if you are working out, they really only fool people who don't work out. You know, the type that order six things from a drive thru and a DIET, emphasis on DIET, coke. You know, because you gotta watch the calorie intake.

I too get frustrated by the lack of ease involved with finding healthy food out there. It's really frustrating looking for a place to get something to eat that isn't a fast food joint or a supermarket selling extortionate scurvy flavoured sandwiches.
DDP has a book available in the UK but it's like £30. I'm not paying that. I saw a couple of his vids on Youtube and I'll try a few of his moves.

You know what's crazy, I just got promoted at work(still same shitty pay til the district manager makes it official). Basically I'm the assistant operations manager now. Since our budget for staff is so low, me and the operations manager are the only two guys back there.
So, since we are the only two in the back, I went from watching the front door to doing warehouse P90x lol. Just constant moving and lifting and doing physical stuff. The amazing thing is I started monday lost a few lbs in 3 days and my belt tightened an extra notch this morning. I was doing the warehouse job all during the holidays and lost no weight. But since I'm on the diet and being active the weight is literally falling right the fuck off. Like I've seen a difference daily.
Basically what this taught me is, at my age, I have to do ALL the right fucking things to lose weight. Diet alone doesn't work and working out and cardio alone doesn't work. It used to but I can even feel it that I'm getting older and my body is slowing down. All I know is with this new position at work, if keep up my diet and throw in 2 days of powerlifting a week, I'm going to be a completely different person by the end of the year.
My goal is to get down to 175. I should be at 205 in a week or two. If I get down to 175 I don't even care so much if I look good. I just want to feel good and light like a kid again. I'm done being "big". It's stupid.

Wrestlers seem to be here a lot. The Million Dollar Man seems to be here every few weeks.
I've been doing pretty well with getting in exercise recently. Went for a long run yesterday but my legs feel pretty heavy right now, lol.

Nothing like the long run to wear down your legs! It is always a damn good time afterwords!
Are all of the wrestlers that are coming to your area, for my own curosity, going to the same place for public speaking or are they pretty spread out, as far as venues go?

I'm teetering around 207-209 right now. It's not coming off as fast as I expected but the main thing is I'm still moving in the right direction. I'm working hard at work, dieting and still powerlifting with treadmill sprints 3 days a week. The main thing is my triglycerides cut in half, which was the biggest concern

Champ,
Not trying to sound like a fan boy, but I'll probably come off as one, because of DDP Yoga, I shed 7 lbs this last week. Might not be bad to look into.
