And this song was over too
I'm psyched! I have one of their cds and all so I was a fan before we got this gig too

I just found out that God Forbid is on the bill too! Check it out It's surreal because I remember when I bought Kittie's cd years back and I used to play along with their songs on guitar. I'm SO glad we're playing with God Forbid. I'm not familiar with their stuff but an old asshole guitarist named Frank I used to play in a band with, who thinks he's better than everyone, always blew his load over that band and he used to put my band down. Now we're opening up for God Forbid while his band is playing local all age shows. Ha ha. Fuck you Frank! We actually are playing in Long Island with National acts at the Crazy Donkey. I never heard of them though. They are DRI Oratory Cleanser and Two man Advantage The best news is our song Crossroads started on the charts last week in the top 300 and jumped to #26 in 5 days for the tristate area in metal. This isn't even just unsigned bands. It's ALL bands from the tristate area. Judas Priest is #1. Check it out. We're at 26 now but it could change by the time you guys look at it. Let's hope it moves up! www.reverbnation.com/main/bes_chart?genre=metal&genre_geo=Local&page=1

God Forbid is fucking sick bro! Its a good band for you to open up for as it will build up your fan base.
That link has the hottest acts for Westminster when I click on it. Which is weird because I live about 5 miles from Denver and 40 from Westminster.
Nevermind figured out how to change locations. And there you are at 27.

We're officially in the top 25! We jumped to 24 today! So we're on the first page with Judas priest now!! I never thought it would be Crossroads that would climb up there. I thought it would have been Guide You or Purgatory. www.reverbnation.com/main/bes_chart?tab=ChartsI'm going to definitely check God Forbid out Naitch. I want to do some research and learn more about both these bands before we jam with them. Therefore, if we have a conversation, I won't be clueless. What's awesome about this is, I'm so used to going to concerts and thinking to myself, wow it would be so awesome if I was up there playing to. Now it's like, I'm going to a Kittie and God Forbid Concert and we're the other band! It's such an awesome feeling. I don't want this to end. I just want to keep getting shows like this

You might want to recheck to see if God Forbid is still on the card. They are going through a guitarist change right now.

They are INDEED on the bill Naitch! And we're on their website! I don't know who put this there! Check this out and scroll down to March 27th on their schedule. If you click on the date, info will come up for us godforbidmusic.ning.com/page/2446046:Page:165You guys can do me a HUGE favor. If you get a chance, can you sign up to reverb nation and "become a fan" of us on the page and then play crossroads and add it to your favorites. The song is becoming hot and the more plays they see and the more people jumping on that one song, that one song could be my ticket out of my parents apartment lol. You would all be awesome if you can do that. It'll only take you 5 minutes tops www.reverbnation.com

Congratulations, Champ. I've heard of Kittie before, well, I knew that they were a chick rock band, but that's about it. That's good that you will be playing with a couple of well established bands, though. Good luck!

Thanks for the support and signing up! It means a lot. We even moved up to 22 today! It's also very cool for a change. My previous shows were in shitty Manhattan Clubs in front of the bartender and the doorman with like 7 of our friends. I only played a few cool ones since I was in this band. The one where we did the cd release and played for about 100 people, when we played at the chance theater the first time in front of about 100 people and when we played the Hope for Heart Benefit in September.
The funny thing is even though the Chance gig and benefit were good gigs, they were 2 of our worst sets ever. The Chance gig I fucked up SO bad I never fell apart on stage like that in my life. I don't know why. It just happened. But people still loved us! It think it was because I still knew the song and I never stopped the timing of my hand when I screwed up. I covered it up. Since it was original music no one could tell but my drummer was like, DUDE WTF happened? lol
The benefit gig I have a hilarious story. My drummer and I showed up to the bar about 2 hours before we went on and started drinking. Every bud tap you bought went to charity so we just went crazy on bud tap that day. My guitarist calls me and my drummer and says his jeep got stolen! His jeep had my bass amp and cabinet along with his equipment. So we thought, fuck we can't play now and half our equipment is gone. So my drummer said, ok lets go tell them we can't play. I said, hold on Dave(my singer) wrote most of the songs on guitar when the band started so he can just play guitar and sing like he used too. So we called him and he showed up just as we were ding sound check. We played, the power went out twice, and my singer hit like 700 wrong chords because it was the first time he sang and played guitar at the same time in 5 months. So the set was a disaster but, once again, people loved us anyway! I have NO idea why! I guess the point of the song still came across? Later on that night my guitarist calls us and said the police found his jeep in a ditch down the hill from his house. The fuckin jeep ROLLED away because he left it in neutral. There ares so many holes in the story and we still don't believe him.
One other thing. We had a show at the Chance last night with November Rain(Guns cover band) and they and another band pulled out. Since we were the only band left and we weren't the headliner, they had to cancel the night. It was an hour and a half drive and I got lucky enough to find out 5 minutes after I left. But, the point is now we look REALLY good to them. We only played there once and bought 75 of the 100 people there and they DO remember that. Now we're the only band that didn't dick them last night and we got screwed because of the other bands. So not only can we draw but we're reliable. So they're going to be offering us another national act show again and they're going to let us use our leftover tickets from last night show and start selling them for the Kittie/GF show. So we're the only ones that have tickets for sale for that show, which gets us off to a good start because we have more time to promote and get people to go.
I know, this thread is a lot of I, I, I. I'm just glad because I'm finally in a position where good things are happening and even better things could be coming up.
Also, it's like I said before, it's like I'm going to a Kittie and GF concert and it just so happens I'm the other band. I quit playing in bands 4 years ago and if you told back then I was going to land a national act with an original band I would've called you a bullshitter

I'd heard of Kittie before (in the same sense as MasterSnit, i.e. I knew they were a chick metal group). So congrats and good luck.
