![](http://www.memeticians.com/2008/05/27/the%20dude.jpg) The carpet really tied the room together you know. ![](http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_wB_B2FyhJMM/SPPkhFSY1QI/AAAAAAAAAI4/hBx7HS1F7d0/s320/groundhog-day_l.jpg) You want a prediction about the weather, you're asking the wrong Phil. I'll give you a winter prediction: It's gonna be cold, it's gonna be grey, and it's gonna last you for the rest of your life. Just a couple of classics you probably have seen but should be mentioned anyway.

How did we forget Big Lebowski? That film is awesome. And Jeff Daniels is a hell of a guy to boot.

I saw Step Brothers Thursday night. It was actually not as good as I thought(I think my expectations were too high) but it was still pretty funny and had some good parts. It was still better than a lot of Will Ferrell's movies but it was no Old School or Anchorman

I watched that film "No Country for old men" last night. Did I read somewhere before that that film won an Oscar for best picture? If so, what sort of crack were those voters smoking? Or was that just a bad year for films?
It wasn't terrible and I don't mind if a film is slow moving or with minimum detail attached to the story/stories, but I found this quite dull and somewhat annoying. There was a constant feeling of tension achieved as that guy with the stupid haircut went after his money and some of the characters had a lazy real-life charm to them. However, it felt as is every scene or development was a strand of the story that was never truly picked up again as the film progressed. I don't mind if a film isn't all tied up into a nice bow at the end but I would expect, at the least, there to be something that the viewer can grasp onto at some point of the film and appreciate, instead of just plodding along from one scene to the next, only to be left totally in the lurch with ultimately no reason, nothing to question and in my case, no enjoyment. Maybe the structure of the film reflected stupid haircut guy's way of thinking and reasoning, or something like that, but I don't care to think about that. I did like some elements of the film, but I've definitely no desire to see it again.

Anyone seen District 9? Its a decent sci-fi flick that may still be in the cinema now in the US, should still be out in the UK.

I heard mixed reviews about that. Some say it was awesome but a few people told me it was a huge disappointment

If you feel the need to see a super well done Dark Comedy I have to suggest World's Greatest Dad. Its a film you'll either love or hate with absolutely no in between. I loved it and now think its Robin William's best film to date. Its a seriously fucked up movie.

District 9 was pretty good, its sci fi to make you think. It does take 42 minutes for any action to start.

Yeah, I've seen it. Once. I'd watch it again, but it's the kind of film you'd probably have to psych yourself up to watch.
