Pretty much anything by David Fincher is awesome. Never mind alien 3 the rest such as seven, Fight Club and Zodiac are all really recommended.
I am looking forward to his new film the Curious Case of Benjamin Button, despite it looking a bit soppy and loved up.
I also enjoy weird films such as Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind and Being John Malkovich (which has Catherine Keener in it V) because they take a simple premise of love, breaking up etc and just put a whole weird story around them to mess with your brain a bit.

Try David Lynch if you want weird. For anyone who has seen Mulholland Drive. I woke up in the middle of the night a couple of weeks back, to go to the toilet. I never bother switching any lights on because at that time your eyes are adjusted to the light. So I walked to the toilet, still half sleeping and hardly thinking of anything, but when I was making my way back to the toilet door, suddenly that scene popped into my head! That scene with the THING! Where it just glides into scene. I don't know why, I've not seen that film in years and there was no reason for it to pop in there, but it did. Took me about an hour to get back to sleep. This is what I'm on about if you have no idea what I'm talking about. uk.youtube.com/watch?v=7Pdd9VBSoag&feature=related

Being John Malkovich is a very funny film too. Probably in my top 20. I actually enjoyed it more the second time when I knew what was coming, because then I could appreciate the little things in it more. I also like that despite all the surreal stuff going on in it, there's a hard edge to the way some of the relationships pan out. I got bored and annoyed with Eternal Sunshine. I liked Meet The Parents. I saw it at the cinema with a girl the night before I stayed with her and her parents for a weekend. Mulholland Drive is also in my theoretical top 20. Just for sheer balls-out weirdness. I don't like movies where everything is spelt out in crayons, Mulholland Drive is like the complete opposite of that. You can read pretty much whatever you want to in it.

I'm guessing your night went better than Ben Stiller's weekend at Jack Byrnes house!

A couple ideas I had for this thread.
1. Walk Hard: The Dewy Cox Story. One of the best comedies ever.
2. Death To Smoochy. Edward Norton and Robin Williams are great in this film. And Danny Devito plays a great scumbag.

The cast of Norton, Williams, and Devito alone make me want to see it

I watched a made for TV film the other day. It was called the Langoliers and is based on a Stephen King novella. Although the special effects were awful, and the acting maybe not the best, I enjoyed it. Basically, a group of people are practically the last people on earth and are stuck at an airport, but way off in the distance there is something coming to get them, whatever it is it's making a horrible noise... and it's getting closer. I liked knowing that something was coming to get them, but for about 2 thirds of the film you didn't quite know what it was only that it was definitely coming.

And you two go watch Walk Hard: The Dewey Cox Story. In my opinion the best comedy made in the 2000s.

MS, that movie was shot in my hometown. In Denver? That's where the plane took off from. Can you hear that noise, Naitch? It sounds like... rice crispies, just after you pour in the milk. Maybe it's the Langoliers. Their coming to getcha! I'll watch that film you recommended. It does look quite funny.

Was that John C Reilly, Will Ferrell's newest sidekick?
It does look funny
Death To Smoochy seems like it'll be good

Yeah that was John C Reilly. He does a great job as Dewey Cox. YOu would enjoy that movie more then most people Champ since its basically the story of Johnny Cash in a comedy form.
Death to Smoochy is awesome and the cast is good. Its a movie where its the little things that make you laugh.
MS- The Langoliers were shot in Maine. I've only been in Denver for about two and a half years.

Right. I didn't know if you considered Denver your home-town. The plane left from Denver and was going to Boston. Both Naitch country.

I grew up about 200 miles north of Boston. I don't know if Boston is really Naitch Country. I do love Boston though. Its such a fantastic city.
