I used to watch lots of films but have hardly watched any in years now. I just lost interest really, but I've been watching a couple here and there the last couple of months. So, if you can think of one that you liked, let us know.
Most of you will have probably seen it, but I think Blazing Saddles is the funniest film I have ever seen. It was on TV a couple of weeks back and I couldn't help but stay up and watch it, even though I was getting ready for bed.
The Frighteners. It's a horror comedy. I've seen it plenty of times but I still enjoy it whenever I see it.
Sunshine. It's a Sci-Fi film I saw a little while back. It's about a group of astronauts, armed to the teeth with the biggest nuclear cock that can possibly be built, and their mission is to set it off into the dying sun. The score is really good, as are the effects. It does get a bit weird and the ending felt a bit rushed. It was a good film but I think if it was allowed to run on longer it could have been really great.

I posted a thread earlier in the month about Gran Torino. That's the one movie I'm totally recommending everyone see right now. Knowing all of your personalities from this board, I can't see one of you not liking it

I looked it up there, I thought it was some sort of gay driving film like Need for Speed.

I don't like movie theaters that much so I'll have to wait to see Gran Torino.
Check out Pineapple Express. Its one of the funniest movies I've seen.
I love Blazing Saddles btw. "You asked for a nigger, my grandmother was dutch". lol

I still have no idea how they managed to make it looked like Mongo floored that horse, lol.

I never thought about it but how did they do that? Its not like CGI was rampant when they made that movie.

Me too Naitch. That's why I saw the bootleg. The last movie I went to see in the theater was Semi-pro because I went on a double date. Before that it was Rocky Balboa. Rocky 6 was the only movie I actually vowed to go to the theater for in like 15 years. I seriously only go to the movies once every few years. I hate sitting there and if I have to get up to piss I can't rewind

I just hate the other people. Its like people lost all respect. I hate hearing people talk when I spend 9 bucks for a movie ticket. I really wish cell phones were never made.

A hundred years ago I worked for a well-known high street video rental store. It basically killed off my desire to watch movies.
Best recent.... well, fairly recent.... movie I saw was Pan's Labyrinth. It's bound to be on Film4 again in the next few months, MasterSnit. It's really good.
My all-time favourite is probably Groundhog Day. Very funny movie. I also like that it's a very clever film that doesn't go to great lengths to hammer home just how fucking clever it is, like just about every movie that gets nominated for an Oscar.
My guilty pleasure is Mean Girls. I am a 29-year-old heterosexual male. I feel the need to point this out whenever I push this movie.
I liked 40 Year Old Virgin mostly because I heart Catharine Keener, and Steve Carrell was OK; but everyone else in that movie I wanted to be punched in the face, so I refuse to watch anything associated with Judd Apatow.
I also can't stand Adam Sandler.

Here are some classics you CAN'T go wrong with
Caddyshack - AWESOME cast and funny as fuck. You have Rodney Dangerfield(movie debut at almost 60 years old), Chevy Chase, Bill Murray, and Ted Knight.
Breakfast Club - Judd Nelson was brilliant in that
Midnight Run - the chemistry between Robert DeNiro and Charles Groden just couldn't be topped
Beverly Hills Cop 1 and 2 - classic Eddie Murphy. I wouldn't recommend seeing the 3rd movie
Back to the Future 1 and 2 - Same as Beverly Hills Cop, the movies were made in a trilogy but the 3rd one was subpar
Easy Money - easily one of the greatest comedies ever. Dangerfield at his best
National Lampoons Vacation and Christmas Vacation - Those were great! The European Vacation and Vegas Vacation were ok.
Godfather 1 and 2 - once again, didn't care for the 3rd one but the first 2 were just absolutely phenomenal
Goodfellas - great gangster movie because not only was the story excellent and dramatic but it was also very funny. Joe Pesci, DeNiro and Ray Liotta were the absolute perfect fits for their roles
Casino - yet another great gangster movie with DeNiro and Pesci about a crooked Vegas casino. Pesci was like an even crazier version of his character from Goodfellas. PS. Sharon Stone looks good and gets fucked
Newer movies
Anchorman - a must see comedy if you like Will Ferrell
Old School - Will Ferrell, Vince Vaughn and Luke Wilson. Excellent cast
Meet the Parents and Meet the Fockers - you've gotta love when Ben Stiller can't do anything right and DeNiro is the guy he's trying to impress
Analyze This and Analyze That - DeNiro is a mobster with an anxiety disorder and Billy Crystal is his Psychiatrist. The shit DeNiro puts Crystal through is priceless
Superbad - I just LMAO the entire movie
Knocked up - also very funny
40 year old virgin - I thought was funnier than V said. I thought Steve Carell's work buddys were actually pretty funny. Katherine Keener's body looked great
Here's one movie that a lot of people haven't heard of but I've been telling everyone to see it. It's called "Poolhall Junkies". It's all about hustling swerves. Christopher Walken was my favorite character in that.
I'm sure there's a lot more I'm not thinking of because I already named like 500 movies

Godfather 1 and 2 and Goodfellas are amazing movies. I love those so much.
Champ is still the only straight guy that admits he likes The Breakfast Club. Until now. It is a great film.
Spies Like Us makes me laugh super hard every time I see it.
Walk Hard: The Legend of Dewey Cox might be the funniest movie released in the last five years.

Thing is, comedy is such a mood thing. Just like there are some things that put you in a good mood, some things just put you off.
lmao. Ain't that the truth.
A bit off-topic, but you know what blows my mind? Catharine Keener is going to be fifty years old this year. FIFTY. That is just unfuckingreal. I totally want to do her.

I never thought about it but how did they do that? Its not like CGI was rampant when they made that movie. I know. I've oftened wondered about it but now I can't think of anything other than he did just hook the horse. When you see it on the ground it's eyes are rolling back into it's head. The horse seemed to be quite dazed. A hundred years ago I worked for a well-known high street video rental store. It basically killed off my desire to watch movies. I can kinda relate. A couple of years back I did a film class at University and although it was enjoyable I've hardly watched a film since. My lecturer did say that it can put you off when you look too much into it and he was correct. Best recent.... well, fairly recent.... movie I saw was Pan's Labyrinth. It's bound to be on Film4 again in the next few months, MasterSnit. It's really good. Yeah, that film did look interesting. I'll keep an eye out for it. I tried watching it off the internet once but there wasn't any subs and my Spanish isn't quite up to scratch, esse. My all-time favourite is probably Groundhog Day. Very funny movie. I also like that it's a very clever film that doesn't go to great lengths to hammer home just how fucking clever it is, like just about every movie that gets nominated for an Oscar. LOL! Good choice, my friend. I love that film. It's just so easy to sit and watch, even though you've seen it many times before. There's a nice irony in that. Another film I've seen countless times, a little like Groundhog Day in that it's a romantic comedy, is Michael. John Travolta is an angel and agrees to give a newspaper an interview, but he ends up just getting the journalists to drive him around and doing silly things. I don't even know what I would say I like about it, it's just so easy to watch. Back to the Future 1 and 2 - Same as Beverly Hills Cop, the movies were made in a trilogy but the 3rd one was subpar I like the Back to the Future films too, but always felt the third was a little underrated. I enjoyed it. Newer movies Anchorman - a must see comedy if you like Will Ferrell Old School - Will Ferrell, Vince Vaughn and Luke Wilson. Excellent cast Meet the Parents and Meet the Fockers - you've gotta love when Ben Stiller can't do anything right and DeNiro is the guy he's trying to impress Analyze This and Analyze That - DeNiro is a mobster with an anxiety disorder and Billy Crystal is his Psychiatrist. The shit DeNiro puts Crystal through is priceless Superbad - I just LMAO the entire movie Knocked up - also very funny 40 year old virgin - I thought was funnier than V said. I thought Steve Carell's work buddys were actually pretty funny. Katherine Keener's body looked great I've not seen all of those but apart from Superbad and 40 year old virgin, which did have their moments, I can't say I liked any or would want to see the one's that I've not seen. Anytime I see a trailer where it involves quick cuts, people falling down, and heavy use of the colours red and white, usually narrated by someone with an irritating voice, I stay clear. It's usually for one of those supposed comedies with Ben Stiller, his buddy with the blonde hair and hook nose, or Will Ferrells latest movies that involves him doing all the same overdone stupid comedy shticks we've seen a million times already, around a different content. For the most part I'm assuming because a trailer will be as much as I see, but the comedies coming out of hollywood, pretty much since the American Pie films, all seem to be thrown together pieces of shit. That's just my assumed opinion, though. Although not a film, I'd recommend the TV show Carnivale to anyone who hasn't seen it. It got cancelled after two season unfortunately, but it was brilliant!

Meet the Parents isn't really like that. If you see "Along Came Polly" or "Heartbreak Kid" both starring Ben Stiller, they are a little clownier than Meet the Parents. Meet the Parents is actually a great storyline and it's not so much Ben Stiller falling or being clumsy. He just tries so hard to impress Robert DeNiro but DeNiro is such a tyrant and he makes Ben Stiller so nervous that he tries extra hard to impress him and always fails or fucks it up more. That movie wasn't so much about Ben Stiller or Robert DeNiro individually, it was all about their relationship and chemistry together. As for the hook nosed blond friend(Owen Wilson) he's not even so much a huge part of that movie. He just plays this semi pompous successful tool. But it's funny because he's Ben Stiller's girlfriend's ex-fiance and his life on paper is so much better than Ben Stiller's and it just makes DeNiro resent him more because he's with his daughter and Owen Wilson isn't. It's really good.
Also, Analyze This is phenomenal. It's nothing slapstick like with people falling down and over the top goofy shit.
If anything I can see why you wouldn't like Anchorman and Old School if that's your taste because those movies are very silly, especially Anchorman, but I just love them to death.
