How come none of you told me I would love Living Colour? There shit is over twenty years old and now I finally hear stuff that isn't Cult of Personality and it is all awesome. Four very awesome musicians that obviously did not get enough air play. Heres a favorite I found today.

A lot of there stuff has a really good vibe to it. Almost like they are the black Tool of the late 80s and early 90s. Then can switch it from rock to like jazz type thing to soul on a drop of a dime. Honestly, I'm kinda pissed at the radio stations for just playing Cult of Personality. The musicians are great, the singer is a like a weaker version of Maynard James Keenan when it comes to lyrics (thats not a bad thing, MJK is a high honor) and sometimes treading on Freddy Mercury levels of great voice. Here's another gem I enjoyed.

I thought this was just brilliant! Brian May from Queen played guitar on it. Dave Grohl played drums and the drummer actually did the vocals. I definitely recommend listening to it til the end. It just keeps getting better and more dynamic

Oh, so the guy singing is the Foo Fighter's drummer? He did a good job. Maybe Dave Grohl should get his ass back behind the drums where he belongs because that guy sounds more like Kurt Cobain than Dave ever will, lol.

It's funny MS because I was thinking the same thing. I love Dave Grohl but the drummer sounds very distinct and different. He's got that voice you'll either love or hate but can't ignore. When I first heard Foo Fighters version of have a cigar, I thought, wow if this is Dave Grohl, he needs to sing like this more often! lol It's just a very new and current vocal style. Those harmonies on the second and 3rd chorus were so fuckin unique to for that type of voice but goddam it sounded great!

Yeah, we need more of the Edge - Kurt Cobain bastard child.
I've also heard that the Foo Fighters' most recent album is really good.

I think the Foo Fighters are great. But like any other contemporary band that blows up, I've been force fed foo fighter cock for years now and I'm sick of it. I could totally get into them again if Taylor Hawkins(that's the drummer's name. I looked it up today) and Grohl switched for the next album or something.
And he actually does kind of look like Edge. He's got a total rockstar look. He and Dave Grohl should really switch! Not even permanent, just for new material. Why the fuck not?

That Living Colour track was pretty good. I'd also only heard of them for COP, and only heard of COP because of Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas. I think Foo Fighters are bland. I liked their very first single. And the video to Learn To Fly is funny. It's not even that they suck or anything, I just hear their songs on the radio and it's just blah to me. These songs are from an album all about British Wrestling in its hey-day I saw the name on those vids and it sounded familiar but I couldn't place it. Fortunately wikipedia reminded me that he used to be in a band called The Auteurs, who had a few catchy songs back in the day Finally, a Country cover version of Hey Joe (skip forward to 0:50 after the interview). A German country band. The double-bass solo kills me.

I'm digging up old school here. The reason I'm thinking about this song now is because I want to cover it with my metal cover band
