I decided to give TNA another try, with a new channel, and reading promises about what they were going to do. I’m not going to go as far as to say that this was the worst show I’ve ever seen, but it is the most disappointing show I’ve ever seen. So here is my rundown of it the first ever Impact on Pop. This is also my first Impact in quite a while, plenty of new faces for me. 1. Immediately I noticed that Pop is a Standard Def channel, and this is immediately a turn off. 2. Oh good, we are starting off with a Dixie promo. Fuck that, I got this shit on my DVR, lets fast forward. 3. EC3 and Lashley didn’t really seem to work well together. Not a good match. 4. Matt Hardy vs Eric Young was not good either. Hardy looked winded before the even hit the halfway point. I’m going to guess Young doesn’t get drug tested. 5. Roode vs Bram was decent. I like Roode, I have never seen Bram before. I hated him immediately because of the way he spells his logo with the thorny looking font, like he’s a death metal band. It was the match of the night, which is sad to say for the ep because this is supposed to be a big show, and this match was average and forgettable. Why is Young involved every time someone gets jumped? Why isn’t he scared of fireworks anymore? 6. James Storm was breath of fresh air and he cut a great promo and an even better one backstage with Roode. 7. I enjoyed the debut of The Miracle and Maria immensely. 8. As bad as the rest of the show was, Hardy vs EC3 is what it would be remembered for, good or bad, so the undercard only serves to get us to this point. I am not going to point any fingers at EC3 here, he was working the best he could with what he had to work with, and Matt Hardy was a hot mess. I have no idea if I am going to go back next week, but I do not have a strong desire to.

I was going to give this a shot, but reading your review kinda sucked out any enthusiasm I had for it - and trust me, there was very little enthusiasm in the first place.
Also reading the next few weeks of spoilers... yeah. I don't think they are ever going to learn.
Also, 2006 is going to be the year of Bram, apparently. And this is a show that was on tape delay. Have I mentioned recently that TNA is stupid? Actually, Bram thinking it is 2006 and discovering Facebook and other popculture of 10 years ago for the first time would be a pretty funny gimmick.

I watched Impact as the finale to my night of debauched sadomasochism. What's the worst thing they could do as the first act of their newest new beginning? A Dixie promo. So naturally that's what happened. Has V mentioned recently that TNA is... nevermind, yeah, he has. The worst part of Impact in recent times for me is the almost dark arenas. I actually like shows that aren't too shiny and overproduced, but it's clear they are doing it because there is only about 80 people at the shows. It's sad. I actually do feel a little sad watching TNA now. They plugged away for years and got to a stage about 5-6 years ago when they had some good things going for them and a chance to sustain and build on what they had. Instead, they went dunking for turds in the WCW slop bucket and shot themselves in the foot repeatedly. Now they are staggering along like a zombie, and nobody can figure out how they are even still moving along. Oh, on their PPV the other day Josh said that somebody let the air out of Mowgalaheera's car so he couldn't make it to the show. Whah? Beer Money tagging again is cool. I just hope they can have some decent programs. I like Maria and all, but I always thought Michael Bennett kinda sucked. I suppose if I had to sacrafice one member of the Kingdom to TNA then he would be the one. It was a decent debut though. I'm probably going to check out at least a little bit again next week. And I encourage you guys to do the same. C'mon guys, there might be something good just around the corner. LOL. ![P-)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/pirate.png)

At the end of their One Night Only show the other night Beer Money beat Bram and Eric Young in the main event. After the match Storm gets a beer as Roode celebrates in the corner. Roode then motions for someone at ringside to throw him a beer, I assume so he could toast Storm and celebrate a little more. They didn't have a beer for him. I really like Roode as he is a solid pro and I never see him doing anything but his best with what he is given, but you could see his mask of professionalism slip and a look of exasperation fill his eyes. The PPV went off the air with Roode and Storm trying to bum a beer from the commentary area. My heart sank for the both of them.

I have the new one on my DVR, I just haven't gotten around to watching it yet.

Well, I watched that Impact and I'm glad I did. For the most part, it was a fun and entertaining wrestling show. Here are my thoughts.
1. This should have been the kick off show for Pop TV. 2. Unless things change in the announcing booth, there will always be an implied the announcers suck. 3. Opening with EC3, Tyrus, Jeff and the Luchador was great for an opening promo. 4. Jeff Hardy vs Luchador was a little rough, but I think it's Jeff's first match in a year, it gets a pass. 5. My spell check wants to turn the word luchador into labrador. 6. The KO's match was fun. 7. Beer Money was a lot of fun on the mic. Eric Young was also fun on the mic. The match between Roode vs Young was fun, looking forward to what's next with these four. 8. I kind of like how everything around Bram now has to deal with the year 2006. 9. Mr. Anderson is terrible with his stupid talk show. Let's move on. 10. I hate Tigre Uno because of the amount I have to hear Josh Matthews say Tea-Grey Uno. The match between the Wolves and Tea-Grey vs the lower card heels was fun and reminded me of Saturday morning wrestling when I was a kid. Thumbs up. 11. The promo between Matt Hardy and EC3 did the impossible. It got me hyped for the rematch they are having next week. 12. Kurt Angle vs Drew Galloway was a solid match that I enjoyed very much.
The rundown on this ep was, if you can't enjoy it, than you are super biased against TNA and nothing they will do will be good enough for you.

Alright fellow TNAmaniacs, I just got done watching this week's show too.
The first thing I have to say is I am so over this Matt Hardy in the main event story. Matt Hardy as your top babyface says enough about the state of TNA's fortunes, but they've even dragged his mutant family into things now. Matt Hardy's kid is like 4 weeks old and he's one of the main characters on the show. He also looks like a balding Cabbage Patch Kid. Sorry, but he does. Enough of this. I want EC3 to win next week just so that little kid can go home and relax. I actually liked Mr Anderson's talk show though. It was half-assed but that's what I liked about it.
I liked Jeff vs Dark Sequence (it was something like that) because the jobber actually had a little attitude. Things like that just make it more interesting.
Pope and Josh though... they gotta go!
Beer Money vs The Mental Time Travellers should be OK. 2006 Bram is my favourite Bram.
I also thought it was a decent episode this week. A big improvement on last week.

Beer Money vs The Mental Time Travellers should be OK. 2006 Bram is my favourite Bram. And 2006 is Bram's favorite Kurt Angle! In regards to the announcing, I don't hate The Pope, but I loathe Josh. I found myself wanting to yell at the TV that I already knew everything he was saying because the promo had literally just ended or he had already said that same thing 43 times. He's not an announcer, he's a poorly trained parrot.

If it means we will start posting together some more, I'm down to watch Impact. Well, for the sake of board, I'll give it another go. I thought the opening dragged on a bit - I think I've developed a phobia of Wrestling Opening Segments - although EC3 singing "it's a guy" to that jobber was really funny. So, the two members of The Beautiful People jumped the four members of Dollhouse. Great plan there. Totally forgot about Rebel, what a hottie. Velvet still sucks. Kong is a pretty good promo, and I can buy her wanting some jabronis in a stable to make her life easier. Beer Money, first time since 2011? Really? Was that really 5 years ago? Goddamm. Material was pretty corny but I gotta agree with you Naitch, these two are such pros it was fun to watch. No need to overcomplicate things sometimes. You could say the same for the match that followed, where the ref saw a bunch of shit go down and not call a DQ, and Roode jobbed the title. I'm going to need one of you gentlemen to explain to me what it means to be "King of the Mountain" (stipulations? weight limits? conditions?), as the commentators didn't seem to mention it. Or is it just a name? Kurt Angle match, 25 finishers kicked out of, blah blah blah. Funnily enough, I did enjoy the rest of the matches on the show though. I'm glad I missed last week's show, this was alright. It's interesting to see both of you having differing opinions about Anderson's talk show. His "Huh" intro with the smooth jazz is pretty boss. And then Matt Hardy and his gormless face comes up on the screen. Yeah, Matt Hardy's kid wanted nothing to do with that segment. See, I got the sense that this was supposed to be bad. An intentionally bad chat show segment is a neat idea actually (in which case Matt Hardy is the perfect guest). And Anderson can pull it off. IF that is what they're shooting for, I could enjoy it. If it's just a load of retards WHATing HUHing then I'm going to hate it. I dunno about the announcers. Just the fact it's not Tenay and Taz is an improvement. I think Josh could be (or has been) a capable commentator, but I don't know what he's trying to do on this show. It's like everything is the most important thing in the world. Even J.R. saved the BAH GAWDs for the big moments. He needs to dial it down 2 notches. I did laugh at the "poorly trained parrot" line though. Even having just praised him, I don't think you're a million miles off with that observation. They did a recap and I saw Billy Corgan and Dixie blahing about the tournament and because it's TNA I immediately thought "how long until it's Team Dixie vs Team Corgan for Control of the Company". Yeah? Think I'm crazy? Wanna bet against it?

Yeah, it doesn't mean anything. It's their Intercontinental title.
I think that is what they are going for. Anderson never takes anything too seriously. The "huh?" stuff might get out of hand though.
Naitch, poorly trained parrot is a good call. Josh is also creepy, like a parrot.
There's more chance of Kofi Kingston winning the Royal Rumble than there is of that not happening.
I haven't read the spoilers but I did read that they taped something like 4 months worth of shows the other week. Something tells me after the next few weeks the shows are just going to deteriorate and get worse every week.

Yeah, it doesn't mean anything. It's their Intercontinental title. The announcers said something like it could be defended by any set of rules for any match. So far I've seen it in two singles matches, so I am not sure if they follow their own continuity. King of the Mountain sounds like it came out of Jeff Jarrett's head, is it a GFW title?

This week's Impact thoughts.
-I am pretty sure Jeff Hardy vs Tyrus was an excuse to keep Jeff backstage to babysit his nephew during Matt's match. -I thoroughly enjoyed Gail Kim vs Awesome Kong. -Beer Money is gold. Eli Drake and Jesse Godderz are also gold. Fun match. -I like this Mike Bennett kid. -Matt Hardy vs EC3 was WAYYYYYYY better than I thought those two were capable of doing. Loved the Matt heel turn. I am actually invested in this angle now. I know, 2016, Matt Hardy, Naitch interested. I haven't been interested in Matt since the whole Lita/Edge thing.

-I am pretty sure Jeff Hardy vs Tyrus was an excuse to keep Jeff backstage to babysit his nephew during Matt's match. Heh. I was kinda shocked that TNA actually followed up on something from last week, with Jeff mocking Tyrus not being able to read. Shit, am I going to have to pay attention all the time now? Beer Money came out and got that crowd going again. I would be fine just watching them clowning around with jobbers for the next few weeks. Oof. I dunno Naitch. I think Maria is the star of that couple. For someone claiming to be a "miracle" he sure does look like just another dude with tights and a bad hair cut. I will reserve judgment for the time being though. Mixed feelings. That match was really well executed, which, again, kinda shocking for TNA. I just think I would enjoy it more if it was anyone other than Matt in that role. You'll never hear me say that Lashley is a good promo. However, I think that was about as good as you're going to get out of him. I at least could buy why he wants the match. Whatever happened to Taryn, by the way?

Jarrett brought it in when they had that GFW invasion. As far as I'm aware it was considered their main singles title at the time. Justin Gabriel won it on an episode of Impact one week then Roode beat him for it a couple of weeks later. Then they jumped from A straight through to Z and had another big mess of a match for control of TNA between Dixie and Jeff. Dixie (TNA) beat Jeff (GFW) and all the GFW guys were fired, even though they weren't hired in the first place. So during all this Roode still had the KOTM title and it has been in TNA since. I initially thought they would do another thing with GFW when they got going with their own shows and someone would win the belt back, but who knows. So now I just see it as TNA's Intercontinental title. Now I feel drained for having to remember and trying to make sense of that.
As for Mike Bennett, he was part of a stable in ROH called The Kingdom with Maria and two other guys who, in my opinion, are better than him. He just happens to be married to Maria, so they come as a package. I like Maria and think she is very good, but Bennett needs to let off some steam in the basement because he kinda sucks.
I heard Taryn found Jesus and decided not to waste her time going back to TNA.
Can't believe Matt Hardy is champion again. Although the match was OK. A nice little double-turn is always cool to see when it works.
How long are they going to drag out this Kurt Angle farewell? I'm bored of it already.
Hey, did anyone else read about TNA claiming they had actually signed AJ Styles, Festus and Karl Anderson back at the end of the year? Then I think they denied what they had just said. It all seemed like a desperate attempt to link themselves to rumours that have nothing to do with them. Has V mentioned recently that TNA is stupid?
