Here's a video on youtube from my rehearsal. My girlfriend filmed this. It's a heavy! You see me in the video clearly with my Batista Animal shirt on. The only complaint was the vocals were a little drowned out and the heaviness distorted the sound a tad but it still sounds cool. I had no charisma in this video because I wasn't really feeling good youtube.com/watch?v=X0dWrxcER1wIf you want to see any other videos just type in Karascene when you go to youtube. I suggest checking out the song "The Liar". I wrote a Black Sabbath type riff to open the song. Edit: Fuck it I'll just give you the link to that too. youtube.com/watch?v=bwaSMKdI07s

lol no what happened was my drummer asked which song we were doing because he forgets sometimes matching the song name with which song we are about to play so we have little nicknames for the songs for him to remember. So when we decided to play Crossroads my drummer asked which song it was and my singer said "weird five count" because we have an awkward rhythm with a 5 count in the middle of the song and we always call it "weird five count" if he forgets Crossroads.

Thank you. Yeah, the vocals were pretty drowned out. That was my biggest complaint

"Your Mom's a weird five count" The drummer should have got a guitar across the face.

He's a funny bastard my drummer and a lot of fun to hang out with. He's about 5'4 130lbs and he's just full of fun ribbing and isn't scared of anyone. He'll tell you the god's honest truth everytime whether it's positive or negative but he's also very cool and will never do wrong by you. So he's definitely good peoples. But yeah, he should have gotten a guitar across his face lol. I'm only saying that because he would probably say that about me since he's a walking ribber.
In fact they are all great people(my band members) and have become very good friends of mine. I've known the drummer 15 years but never played music with him and only hung out with him if I saw him at a bar. He's a blast to have as a drummer in the rhythm section with me being a bassist/percussionist too. My singer I've known about 8 years and he's been there for me through a lot of shit and never turned his back on me. He's one of the most loyal friend's you can have. He's also the one of the most talented song writers you can ever come across. My lead guitarist I've only known a year and he just simply has a heart of gold. If I was gay or if it was ok to say a dude is a sweetheart. He would be that guy I would say is a sweetheart. Just an all around genuine human being. I've also never met someone so dedicated to playing like him which explains why he rips awesome solos in those videos like it's a walk in the park. I lucked out because I not only get along really well with my band members but we are all on the same page musically. It's REALLY fuckin hard to find that in a band. All you need is one asshole or playing hack to make the band miserable and unsuccessful

Champ, if you and your band ever realise that Karascene is a totally gay name, I think "Weird Five Count" would work well.

I actually dug this up from nearly a year ago. NOW this is what my band really sounds like! We finished two mixes. They're not mastered but that makes no difference when it's not on the radio or cd and you're just clicking a button to hear it. If it was mastered it still wouldn't sound radio quality. I just listened to it and it sounds way better on cd. But it's still a pro recording and now I'm finally proud to say, "listen to these songs". It's just not going to sound great because it's a shitty quality player The songs that got put up tonight are "Purgatory" and "Equal Lithium". Not to be biased against my own shit, "Equal Lithium" came out really good but I'm just loving "Purgatory" right now. It's just like a 3 min rollercoaster that gets the point across www.myspace.com/karascene1

Purgatory threw me all over the place. During the intro I was expecting some Ride the Lightning type shit to follow but what I got was pretty awesome! Is your singer doing a Tom Waits impression during that track?
Equalithium is pretty tight all over the place but I think Purgatory is a more captivating piece of art. At least to a first time listener.

Thanks dude. I agree. I'm really feeling Purgatory over Equal Lithium right now. I can't help it. I'm just so happy with how Purgatory sounds. I guess I didn't see it coming because my singer and I wrote it about 6 years ago and it evolved a lot over the years and I'm just so happy what it became.
Equal Lithium came out a lot more commercial but that's a good thing too! I'm just more into the intricate artsier songs myself which is why I'm biased for Purgatory.
Possibly through osmosis. Basically, if he is doing an impression, he definitely didn't realize it. He's the type of guy that just hears what type of vocal delivery he thinks will work and just uses it. You'll definitely pick up little influences on him but in the end I'm just happy that he has his own voice and personality. It's almost impossible these days to have an original vocalist and guitarist without losing a cool sound. Definitely the hardest thing, for me, to do in writing and producing is not sounding like anyone else. Then you have the opposite extremists of people who are just flat out posers. As long as we stay true to ourselves, I think we'll give less of that impression than more, if that makes sense. I would say in the end, producing originality is slightly tougher than writing originality.

Check out the 8 we have up. They're basically done. We just have to put them through a better mastering program and you're not going to get the full quality. We're going back in and touching up a few things and then finishing 4 more. The actual real cd with the booklet will be completed in October. But these are close enough My singer went back in and redid a lot of his vocals and I redid a few bass and guitar tracks and we added some keyboards, sirens and explosions in some of the songs for overall production. www.myspace.com/karascene1Naitch I bet you'll love "Guide You". It's really powerful and low key with double kick. It's brutal but melodic God, I just listened to it on Myspace and the quality is horrible. I have a promo disc here where the quality sounds great like it could be on the radio. My guitarist definitely uploaded them wrong

Aight bro I just listened to Guide You (I'm feeling like shit this afternoon so I'll give the other songs a chance when I'm feeling better) and that song is weird in a good way. The song musically gives off vibes of Tool. And by that I mean supreme uniqueness not that you guys are actually ripping off a Tool song.
Another good compliment (at least I hope it is) is this sounds like it would be the perfect theme for CM Punk. Or maybe for the Punk/Hardy video packages we recently had. The "Now that I know who you are/I'll guide you" part I think would work for him as a heel character.
Anyways Guide You has taking over as my second fav song from you guys. Your shit is so fucking tight on this.
