I listened to 'Guide You' there. It does actually sound like something that would fit in WWE. Sounds like a PPV theme to me. The sound quality isn't the best though, as you mentioned. When it is clear it sounds like it should be cool.

feel better dude. I felt like that today too. My whole body ached.
But I totally appreciate what you're saying and I know what you mean. One thing we all wanted to accomplish was simply just to rock out but sound like no one. If you sound like someone, what's the point in anyone signing a band that sounds like an established band. They already have that band so they don't need you unless you have your own delivery. So thank you. That's a very important and awesome compliment to me
I noticed we have a way of writing cool wrestling type themes lol. If we ever got signed I'd go out of my way to get one of them in WWE, even if it was a PPV song
Thanks so much dude. Once the actual mastered cds(quality is SO MUCH better than myspace) are up I'll let you know.
I absolutely promise you when you get a chance to hear the actual cd, you'll see the radio quality of the mix. On the myspace, everything sounds weak and slightly muffled. I listened to that and went right to the disc and it's almost embarrassing, that's how much better the actual cd disc sounds

Apparently our manager has been getting some of the songs we released on Myspace to record labels and people in charge of tours and the feedback is great! We're starting to finally benefit
On Halloween we're playing in front of record labels at Connolys Club in Times Square Halloween night. It's going to be a big party, shitload of people, and costume contests. Plus Times Square is very hard to get into, especially on a huge party night if you're not even signed. So that's an awesome step
Also, there's a very good chance that on December 26th we'll be opening up for DANZIG at the Starlight Ballroom in New Jersey! From what I know, our manager just has to confirm it and it's done!(I always think the worst and expect it so I don't get disappointed). but it would be pretty damn awesome! That would be so cool to share a stage with the band that wrote and performed "Mother, do you wanna bang heads with me!"
Then sometime 2010 we're going to be playing the Viper room in Los Angelos(Johnny Depp's place, or old place. I don't know if he still owns it) We'd be guaranteed a crowd of around the 10,000 mark!
So Good things are happening!
We played this place in Brooklyn called the Trash Bar this Saturday night. It was really cool! The rock chicks were SMOKIN! Usually when you see rock chicks these days, they're fat, miserable and ugly. These girls had beautiful faces, great bodies, tattoos, piercings, sexy hairstyles, and they dressed nice sexy. I didn't even know cool rock clubs existed anymore, Manhattan has gotten superiorly gay

That is a lot of good news. You seem level headed about it all so that's good too, just stay cool and take things as they come.

I'm waiting on the Danzig thing still. From what I'm told it's looking very good. But shit like this always tends to "fall through". So I'm not getting my hopes up. Honestly, I'm just happy that we are at least being recognized for something like this.
The Viper room we can actually do sooner than we're opting to. But we're having a problem with my lead guitarist.
We recorded the cd and my lead guitarist, who can shred solos amazing, turns out he couldn't play rhythm for shit. So we didn't realize his rhythms were this bad at practice because my singer was playing rhythm too and my singer played louder. He(my lead player) knows how the songs are go but his strumming delivery is just not gelling with the bass and drums. Once we got to the recording room I ended up doing my lead guitarist's rhythms. He also never wrote rhythms to go with my singer's rhythms, so I had to write them. The last 6 months my singer stopped playing guitar so our performances can be better vocally, plus we wanted our lead guitarist to have more pressure on himself to play better, since now he's alone on stage with the guitar. He's still having a strumming problem with our music and it never got much better. So, since we found out about the Danzig possibility, I started working with him on his rhythms last week so he'll finally be able to carry us and sound more professional. He picks up very fast. The problem is, my singer's been working with him and he makes him too nervous when he teaches him because my singer gets frustrated too quick when he's showing him. That's why they never accomplish anything together. Finally my lead player and I got together last week. We got more done in 20 minutes because I didn't yell at him and, instead spoke to him like a first grader. Some times you have tog o back to basics. But if he starts picking this up quick, we'll finally book the Viper room

The Danzig thing isn't happening. We can still do the Viper room anytime we decide it's "go" time. What I don't get is we have so much more going for ourselves than most bands and nothing is happening. The problem is we want to do these shows with promotion, and bottom line, my singer has been so worried about shows and our stupid engineer side tracking him with the LONGEST recording ever, that he hasn't had the booking agent shopping the music around more than it should. So the issue now is our engineer/producer/recording guy needs to stop flaking around on us and finish this fuckin album. That's another reason we've been so side tracked with promotion. We still have 4 more to finish mixing. The more songs we have, the better. The more shit you throw at the wall, the better chance some sticks. Once we're out of the studio for the time being it'll be easier to just shop everything. But we can't 100% master the songs until they're finished completely
In a nutshell, the Danzig show isn't the only opportunity for a good show we will have. The agent owes us a show like that still. My singer paid him a lot of money to ensure that as part of a package. The problem is, we don't feel we're as ready as we need to be. As I mentioned, my guitarist still needs work(I've been getting him better the last 2 weeks!) and our songs are still evolving after 3 years. If we can be better, we want to be awesome. We're trying to play it smart this time and not jump on the first cool gig we see. If it was our only opportunity and my singer wasn't paying an agent, I'd say hell yeah we HAVE to do it. We're in a good enough position to turn it down and wait for another one to come along when we're even tighter. Money talks and my singer's money spoke to a promoting/booking agent. That's the only reason we have these opportunities. We believe in the music so he didn't hesitate to pay the guy.
But like I said, we can still do the Viper room when we're ready and we promote the songs. That's the biggest problem with my band. I've been actually throwing unusual shit fits. I don't want to play the Viper Room or the stepping stone clubs with NO promotion when we HAVE the opportunity to promote the shit out of our material that most local bands don't have. I'm usually very reserved and easy going when I'm there. But the main priority lately is city shows in shit clubs. Meanwhile the package we have guarantees us a shitload of song by song by song promotion. The agent has 8 of our songs already. They aren't fully mastered but they sound good enough and radio stations actually have built in mastering programs for their players. We could be doing this promotion for us all this time but no one listened to me when I said take advantage of that first, THEN we'll worry about the little clubs leading us into more big clubs or venues. At least we'll have created a buzz by then. Right now we're diving head first into shallow water and I've been trying to get that across. But we're all pretty much back on the same page now
The other thing is my gig tomorrow. It's a great place but it's Halloween, everyone that knows us has party plans, and since we didn't used the radio station and internet promotions like I was saying, we're going to draw nobody and we're pretty much guaranteed not to be asked back there to play. The only reason it's worth it is because more music scouts hang out down there then 90% of these other clubs. But once again, it's Halloween. A lot of people are going to hear us play but most of them aren't there to listen to us. Hence, they don't pay much attention.
But I'm glad everyone knows what needs to be done now.
We actually wrote 2 new ones that we're about to record and release ASAP because they fuckin rock IMO. I think they may be better than all of our other songs or at least as good as our best ones. I can't wait for these to be heard

Sometimes the most unlikely situation will wield unexpectedly good results. There might be a guy dressed as Dracula sitting alone with a Bloody Mary apparently just hanging around who might end up being a producer or something. If you feel you have everything working as good as it ever has, just keep giving your all and something might just happen.

You're absolutely right. I don't know if anyone ever heard how George Thorogood and the Destroyers got signed(The ones that did "Bad to the Bone"). They were in a club one night and the only people were there was just the club staff like bartenders, door man etc...and one dude sitting at the bar hanging out. They went on stage and said, well since you're the only ones here we're going to rock out for you. After the set, the guy sitting at the bar happened to work for a record company. Nearly 30 years later, Bad to the Bone has been all over the place. The royalties they must have made off that song alone is ridiculous. Just because they basically had a big rehearsal in front of the staff and one customer instead of a crowd. That one customer was all they needed. It's amazing how shit like that happens

I always thought Smashing Pumpkins started out like that too, but our good friend Wikipedia disagrees. I know I've heard that story (play a gig for three people and one of them turns out to be a scout and the band gets a shot etc) for a number of bands though.

It's tough. Some bands get opportunities to play on B stages or open up for big acts in front of thousands and can't even catch a break. It's all about the right place at the right time
