Fun fact: The afternoon of the Shogun fight, Jones chased down a dude who stole a ladies purse and put him in figure four until the police arrived. That is awesome. I heard he whooped ass a few weeks back. I'll check him out. Thats an understatement. Out of 2.5 rounds Shogun got maybe 15 seconds of offense in. The rest was Jones just beating the shit out of him.

Anyone watch UFC this past weekend?
Usually I don't really watch it, but was interested in Randy vs Lyoto. I'm glad I watched. That was totally the Karate Kid's finishing manoeuvre that Randy got K.O.'d with.
That Hominick guy had a fucking planet growing out of his head. Good fight.
Sometimes, even when you don't know anything about the fighters, you seem to know what is going to happen. That's how I felt when I saw The Janitor. He was simply going to knock the other guy out.
The GSP fight kinda sucked.

It was a good fight card up to GSP vs Shields. A lot of good finishes. Aldo vs Hominick went about four rounds longer then I was expecting, but damn, those two can kick the shit out of someone. I wonder which lucky fan caught Randy's tooth. The Janitor had an impressive knockout.
The funniest thing to me, was in the prelims, Nate Diaz was being treated like a jobber facing Chris Benoit, just being suplexed everywhere.

I think that Strikeforce tournament continues in a couple of weeks. I'll probably check that out.

I forgot that was even going on. I think we get Brett Rogers vs Josh Barnett and Overeem vs Werdum. I have high hopes for both fights.

I've been watching MMA a little more recently. Anyone watch the UFC event last week?
Jon Jones looked really impressive, but is it just me or does he come off as a bit a dick? His nonchalant demeanour makes it look as though he thinks it's all too easy. Not really sure who will beat him, though. With his reach and the way he can keep guys at a distance, it will be hard to topple him. Maybe a good wrestler can take him out, but they have to get inside first.

My best guesses on who can take out Jones.
In the light heavyweight division I think Lyoto Machida and Dan Henderson have the best chances.
In superfights I think Anderson Silva, Brock Lesnar and Cain Velasquez can do it.

I'm SO behind with MMA. I have no clue what's what right now. I believe Cain is still heavyweight champ right? Since he smoked Lesnar and Undertaker was there being a tough guy?

The Undertaker is my fave and always will be, but trying to pick a fight with a former friend who just got his face pummelled was pretty low and disrespectful. I'm sure he was put up to it, but still...
And Naitch, when watching Jones my thought on who might beat him was also Lyoto. It won't happen, but I'd actually be interested if Randy could old man him and take him out. If Silva was to move up then I think his smarts might be enough to get the job done on Jones.

Dana White announced on Twitter that UFC Light Heavyweight Champion Jon Jones will defend the tile against former champion Lyoto Machida ay UFC 140. Rashad Evans was slated for a title shot against Jones, but a hand injury suffered in the fight with Tito Ortiz will keep him out of the title bout. UFC 140 takes place on December 10th from the Air Canada Centre in Toronto, Ontario, Canada with the following card… * Champion Jon Jones vs. Lyoto Machida (UFC Light Heavyweight Title Bout) * Frank Mir vs. Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira * Antonio Rogerio Nogueira vs. Tito Ortiz * Brian Ebersole vs. Rory MacDonald * Mark Hominick vs. Chan Sung Jung * Mark Bocek vs. Nik Lentz * Igor Pokrajac vs. Krzysztof Soszynski * Rich Attonito vs. Claude Patrick * Dennis Hallman vs. John Makdessi * John Cholish vs. Mitch Clarke

I don't think Evans stands much of a chance against Jones and that's probably why that fight keeps getting delayed. I still fancy Jones to win against Machida, but if Machida can get inside on him or catch him doing something unorthodox/reckless I can see him holding his own in the fight on the mat.
Also, Nogueira is going to be busy that night. Tito as an appetizer then Mir for the main course.

I think with Machida and Jones, if Machida can keep the fight standing, he ha can take it. I wouldn't put money on that though.

I'm not sure, I think Jones might box his head off if they stand. I think it will be experience and savvy that can do it for Machida. When Jones does something unorthodox everyone praises him because it has always been working up until now, but once he gets caught trying something risky, it will be seen as a mistake. I can see the fight being a little underwhelming if Machida just waits it out and tries to counter Jones.
