Yeah, because I'm a weirdo I've been going to bed early and getting up at 4AM. I have my pasta or rice for breakfast. One of the good things about living on your own is you can do whatever you want. It's cool to get some things done before going to work, even if it's just some chores or catching up on TV or shit, it seems to put me in a better mood. I just feel like a fat bastard. I don't even care as much about my appearance to people anymore as it just bothers me myself and how tired I feel. The vanity part of it, I actually just started getting past very recently. I just want to do it it for me Something to remember is that there are a load of calories in alcohol. It's like 500 calories in three beers or something. I can't remember how heavy a drinker you said you were, but the lack of alcohol in your diet is offsetting at least some of the stuff you might be eating. I can't really give you advice because everyone has different ways of handling things, but have you tried going on long walks? It's at least a little bit of exercise and an opportunity to relax and clear your head.

Oh I know exactly what I need to do. I've just been loving food because I have no vices anymore. I also feel tired lately and that makes it harder to motivate myself into a workout. I did do a good one yesterday. My chest and shoulders are sore. It was all light weight, high reps and I finished off with jump roping. I have to admit, I felt 10 times better afterwards. Infact, I'm trying to talk myself into it as I'm typing this. It's 1pm here right now and I don't have anything to do til 6pm.
As for the drinking, I wasn't getting smashed when I drank. The problem was I was having a few drinks a day to relax and I was stuck in a very depressed rut. I just do better in life when I'm cleaned out. I still get depressed but it's getting easier to deal with

I did muscles and cardio 4 days straight. I think I'm officially back into the groove because I feel that addiction again! I'm doing the bowflex, chest/shoulders one day, back and triceps next day, legs and biceps the day after then repeat day 4. Cardio and abs are after each workout.
I feel so much better already because I was doing it before like I said but very inconsistently. But now I'm in a good sleep routine and some people noticed me in the last few days getting a little more muscular just from the last month of doing some workouts. So that lit a fire under my ass to pick up the pace too. Now I'm excited again!
Tomorrow it's oatmeal, egg whites and tuna back in the mix. I haven't felt this excited about it in years. I really think my sleep pattern evening out helped because I was having a hard time with it and I was really tired during the day

This morning I ran 7¼ miles and it took me 76 minutes. Not bad after starting 10 weeks ago. I have also managed to lose 25lbs in that time. I'm visiting my family in a couple of hours, so I'll see if those butthats will notice the difference (they won't notice the difference).

That's awesome V. 7+ miles is a lot of running
I'm staying somewhat consistent. I've been averaging out both light weight training and cardio workouts 3 - 4 days a week. My problem is still the eating. I developed a food disorder since I put down the drinking and 420

Yeah, that is really good going, V. Well done!
How do you guys measure the distance you run? I have one of those little pedometer things, but I'm not fully convinced by the numbers is gives.

I had one for a short period of time and lost it. I also drove my running route one time. I used to always do straight street running on the sidewalk

I copied a map of my town from Google maps and measured out a route using... let's just say maths, because I already sound like a complete dork.

There's nothing wrong with that. That was actually a good idea

10 miles this morning. 102:28. I would be marking out for myself even harder if I hadn't Batista'd the last mile. I was under 90 minutes at the 9 mile mark and then just ran out of gas. It's not lightning-quick or anything, but it's not bad considering I'm probably still carrying 25 extra lbs.

Jesus, V, you're kicking arse!
You may have Batista'd a single mile but you're Sheamussing everything else. Do you have any goals in mind? Target weight or perhaps building up to running a marathon?

I'm not doing too bad these days either. I'm still 15st(210lbs) but it's the best 210 I've been in years. It's still too heavy. I look like BRR right now. Muscular but with padding. I just got done doing chest and shoulders on the bowflex and followed it up with 1500 jump rope skips. But I've been going a good 4 - 5 days a week again. My diet just needs to catch up. That's why I'm not getting the results I want

Yeah, sorry for turning this thread into a tooting-my-own-horn fest. This is the closest thing I have to an awesome band or a successful stand-up career at the moment.
Anyway, I got it right this morning. 10 miles in 96mins 48seconds.
Dunno about goals, MasterSnit. I did look at the Reading half-marathon, but it's thirty quid to enter. Bleh.

That's great, V.
Running your local half-marathon might be worth it. It gives you a goal to strive towards over a number of months (I'm assuming it's sometime in the summer). If I don't have any short or long-term goals, I often find myself drifting off course, and before I know it I might be completely out of my rhythm.
