Gabe Sapolsky has left ROH, effective immediately. It's on their main page.
I've fallen back on my ROH for some time now, mostly due to school and life taking up most of my time and being too poor to actually order any shows, but this seems kind of drastic. He was the one who put ROH on the map much like Heyman put ECW there.
I hope they can survive because they do have a great base of talent and the wrestling world really needs a strong independent promotion.

There is supposed to be another ground shattering announcement coming on Monday MB, lets wait it out. My guess is ROH on TV and Carey Silken (the owner of ROH) fired him for not being a team player for some sort of weekly program.

I mean, it seems very odd that Gabe, who is the driving force behind ROH, would just up and leave or get fired for some reason. This would not be the first time ROH has genuinely worked the fans like no other promotion can.

I think its a shoot bro. A sad shoot. I haven't bought a DVD in a year but the results are still fun to read. Anyways Gabe is gone and chances are ROH will go to TV or sink. Maybe both. I guess this makes PWG king of the indies now.

I guess this makes PWG king of the indies now. I just hope it's a work, but if not, I hope for the sake of their young, and very good talent, they can survive. ROH has been one of the few bright spots in wrestling with WWE basically in cruise control and TNA shooting themselves in the foot every time they seem to get going. Sadly, PWG is a west-coast promotion and it seems like the majority of hardcore fans are back east and midwest.

I've not bothered with ROH for a long time now, too.
If it is going to be going to TV, well, as it is now, I wouldn't go out of my way to watch it and I don't think I'm alone.

MB- Don't judge yet, maybe Gabe left on his own. Maybe, just maybe TNA hired him and offered him a shit load of money.
MS- We'll find out today if its a TV deal or not. No real info has been giving.

And the big announcement is Samoa Joe is returning to ROH on PPV. WOW! That is huge! In a perfect world, I would love to see Gabe go to TNA because he could actually do something with all that young talent. Hopefully ROH can still survive. They've got the talent and the fan base, so hopefully the product can still maintain that high level that they have.

Now its time to see if ROH dies. All of Gabe's storylines have just finished and we get to see what Adam Pearce, Austin Aries and Bryan Danielson can do with the book.

I guess this news is along the same lines, but ROH just signed a tv deal with HDNet.
It's a pretty small channel, owned by Maverick's owner Mark Cuban. It's only in HD and I'm not entirely sure it's on every carrier, but it is on DirectTV and Dish and some smaller carriers.
The good news from this is HDNet is covering the production costs, so ROH won't have to worry about that.
The bad news is that if they're paying the costs, that means that they will want some say. And while Cuban gets 100% behind the things he has under his control, we don't know if this will be more of a hands-off, let the guys who know wrestling handle it or "I cheered for X guys, go get them" kind of support. Also, the cable deal is what did ECW in, so hopefully ROH can survive it.

I think this might be a nail in the coffin. The only person with weekly wrestling TV experience in ROH was Gabe. He watched ECW get raped and now he might see ROH get the same fate. HDNet seems like a bad channel for them to go on. I know I don't get it. Pearce's booking has been alienating the fan base and getting fire russo chants. Time to see how long ROH can keep the pieces together now.

Actually, if ROH and HDNet could make a huge move and throw some money at Heyman to come in and book the shows. He knows how to book a small company like ROH for a weekly, small exposure broadcast. Hell, that's how ECW got off the ground. Heyman's issue was never booking, just managing the business end.
Bring him in with his experience, and just keep him away from any kind of money decisions, and they could survive.
But I had no clue that ROH booking has already gotten that bad since Gabe left.

Time for some counter points here, man.
1. Heyman was forced into spending that money. He had to compete with WCW and WWF to keep his top tier guys. Just look at the dream roster he lost due to WCW being able to outbid him. Eddie, Benoit, Malenko, Public Enemy, Taz, Rave, etc. So he had to keep guys like RVD and Dreamer. Also TNN forced them into upgrading everything without giving them any advertising time. Thats a lose lose no matter what angle you look at that from.
2. Heyman would be a logical choice if brought in. He hasn't booked in awhile so his batteries have to be recharged. Look at how awesome he made Smackdown whenever he had the book. Adam Pearce on the other had just seems to not get it.
3. Hopefully Cuban does play fair with ROH. If you look at it from his stand point it has to be something along the lines of what can ROH do for me. Hes got a bottom line that he needs black and not red on that station.
4. Just to touch on the booking, just from what I've read it looks like shit. Having Austin Aries tell the crowd he doesn't want to wrestle because its B venue isn't good and won't help draw the next time you go into that town. And there are a ton of run ins in the main and for some reason a 49 minute time limit draw.
