So I thought I would check out Shinsuke Nakamura vs Sami Zayn just to see if the hype was justified. You might expect me to be contrary, but I'm not. That was an incredible match.
Also Bayley sold losing her match amazingly well. You just can't create wholesome babyface goodness like that these days. Also she has a banging body.
And they treated Bobby Roode as a huge deal! That made me happy as well.

I was expecting to be contrary myself and went into that match ready to hate all over it. I didn't even make it past Nakamura's entrance before I was excited. What a hell of a match. It was a really good show overall, with the worst match (Aris vs Corbin) still being a good match.

Nakamura vs Zayn was awesome. Best WWE/NXT match that whole weekend. Bayley vs Asuka was also really good, as was the opening tag match.

It's really hard to find a bad match on any of the Takeover shows. I saw Nakamura vs Dillanger last night and even though they didn't touch for the first 90 seconds of the show, Nakamura really sucked me in.

I saw Nakamura vs Dillenger as well, and I thought the same thing - they basically did jack shit for half the match and it was still fun. Usually when these indie darlings come into the Fed I'm weary of the hype, but I love this guy. Nakamura vs Aries is a match I'd like to see.

Aries, Joe and Balor down in NXT with matches against Styles, Owens, Rollins, Ambrose, Cesaro, Stardust, Goldust, and Ziggler up in the main roster.

Now that you mention it, Nakamura vs Goldust and Stardust would be cool.
I like NXT, but I hope Nakamura has a run similar to Kevin Owens where he does everything in maybe 6-8 months, but sooner rather than later he is on the main roster.

I saw Asuka vs Eva Marie this week, and I thought Eva did well. I thought she did well at Wrestlemania as well. I can understand the hate, but I find the intensity of the hate rather strange. She seems to understand how to play the character now, which is 80% of the battle.
Anyway, they should do a Women's Money In The Bank match, have Eva win, and then have her cash in 5 seconds after Sasha has her big moment at Summerslam.
I don't really have anything to say about the Nakamura match because it was basically the same as the other one.

New best theme tune:
Roode's debut promo was really good. It did make me laugh that he said something to the effect of "I went to Takeover, then I went to Wrestlemania... and I decided I wanted to be here in NXT". What is that old saying about shoot comments that aren't supposed to be shoot comments?

I'm really behind with WWE because what free time I've had for wrestling I've been watching the G1 in New Japan.
About Roode, I am really glad for him that he got signed with WWE and hope he does well. I always thought he went about things really well in TNA all those years and did his best, despite the company falling apart. The only time I saw him crack was just before he left at the end of one of their crappy PPVs. Roode and Storm won the main event and when they went to grab a beer from ringside, the stage manager didn't have any beers to give them. Just as the PPV was going off air you could see Roode's shoulders slump and the disappointment began to show on his face.

Yeah, I remember you telling me about that, just makes you wonder how they fuck up something that simple. On the other hand, I don't think Roode should worry too much, because only about 17 people watch TNA's PPVs. Anyway, this week Roode was trolling whoever that was about 15,000 people paying to see him wrestle, which is probably the first time he's been able to say something like that for a few years. Also Bayley is going to die at that PPV

That entrance by Roode at takeover was simply Glorious! Arguably the highlight of the whole show for me despite the matches being decent.

Yeah, Roode has been glorious so far. Really happy for him he has hit the ground running with a good gimmick.
It was cool to see Nakamura win the title. I hope he holds it for a while, loses it early next year and shows up at the Rumble and moves to SmackDown.

Thinking of TNA not having any beers at ringside made Roode's amazing entrance just that touch more... what's the word I'm trying to think of? Gratifying?
Pretty much the only thing I didn't like was that his finisher was a bit underwhelming. I mean, the Pumphandle is fine for a hoss like Snitsky who can get some elevation on it. But apparently they even changed that at the recent NXT tapings (might already have aired). So it does make me happy that they are going out of their way to make Roode a huge deal.

Roode already feels like the top heel on NXT. Maybe behind Joe, but I imagine Joe will lose his rematch and hopefully go to SmackDown. Joe and Roode are at the top of the NXT card, and AJ Styles is at the top of the wrestling world as WWE champion, while TNA are still bringing in any former WWE guy (currently Sandow) and pushing him to the top of their card. It's not as bad as it was back around 2010 or whenever it was when they signed Hogan and ripped the soul out of their company, but TNA basically became a Florida indie and NXT has grown into what TNA should have been 5 or 6 years ago.
Roode vs Nakamura for the title at one of the TakeOver shows would be good. I'd be rooting for Roode to win and then hope Nakamura enters the Rumble as a surprise entrant.
