So I watched this week's episode as it was on TV and I apparently didn't have anything better to do this evening. Note to self: find better things to do next weekend.
Positives:
Josh Matthews is a huge improvement over Tenay. Not even saying Matthews is awesome or anything, but at least he has enthusiasm and pays attention to shit.
I like Storm's stable. He isn't trying to take over the company, he's just a guy driven crazy by being in TNA for 12 years who wants to fuck things up.
In the midst of all the shitty production values in the rebooted Impact, they actually put flashbacks to good effect. Believe it or not, I could almost make sense of the storylines (enough to realise that some of them were stupid) with the benefit of highlights from the previous weeks.
Roode & Angle vs Low Ki & EY was a good match before a typically dumb ending.
Havok is a big pregnant dog.
Robbie E's douche-out at the Feast-or-Fired reveal was greatness. I figured something fishy was going on when Velvet (and her terrible new tattoo) took the case.
Negatives:
Matt Hardy was on this show
Hey, remember when we were all 15 years younger and going out clubbing and it was dark so you couldn't quite make out if the chick you were putting the moves on was hot or not? Watching Dimpact felt a bit like this. So gloomy. If they're really turning away from being "the #2 fed" and all that glitzy razzmatazz (not that they were ever good at that in the first place) then they should have gone all the way and held Dimpact in a disused warehouse and gone for a "Fight Club" mise-en-scène.
Oh, okay, Eric Young turned heel. Sure he did. In fact, it looks like half the roster has switched sides since I last watched. Also, "The Beat Down Clan" is a dumb name for a stable.
Lashley makes Roman Reigns look like the Rock on the mic.
Jeremy Borash looks like a drunk hobo they pulled out of a dumpster.
Recapping the Feast-or-Fired match, Josh said something on the lines of "you don't usually wish congratulations and comiserations after winning a match, but this is TNA after all". Okay, so he actually said "this is feast or fired after all", but it would have been apt.
Similarly, Kurt Angle said something to the effect that he quit being Executive Somethingorother (i.e. somebody with the power to fire the Heels in this silly little wrestling war) so he could help in the trenches (where he has no power). Have I mentioned recently that TNA is stupid? Because TNA is still stupid.

This week's episode wasn't bad. A good knockouts match. Matt Hardy still sucks though. I get the feeling - this being TNA and all - that they're setting up Matt turning on Jeff. Again.

I like Storm's stable. He isn't trying to take over the company, he's just a guy driven crazy by being in TNA for 12 years who wants to fuck things up. Yeah, I can't even begin to imagine the inner turmoil that man must be going through. I also like the stable, it's a good mix of characters. That was funny. I really like Robbie E and think they could do more with him if they wanted to. I also find it funny when Taz can't help but crack up at Robbie E when he does something stupid. Talking of Taz, I also like it when Jeff's music hits and he shouts "Creatures!". V, you should check out Lucha Underground if you haven't already. It is pretty much what you described. A grimy warehouse setting with some excellent wrestling and storytelling. It's only about 10 episodes deep but I am really enjoying it. I think Impact has been solid since starting up again and would like to see them try some new or different things seeing as they are starting from near the bottom again. TNA did go through some periods when their product was good and I think at this present moment fans are more open to trying other wrestling shows than what the WWE has to offer, so I'd like TNA to get a bit of momentum again. The Bound for Glory series was always enjoyable, so I'd like to see them bring that back. And where are Dewey Barnes and Norv Fernum at? Talk about an underdog tag team the fans could have got behind. Build them up and have them win the tag titles. Why not? I loved those guys.

I was thinking the same thing about "dimpact"(lol that's perfect) the day it debuted on the new channel. It opened up with a huge roster brawl, and I COULD NOT TELL WHO THE FUCK WAS WHO! You couldn't see shit! Lol
I'm so sick of rehashing the ECW vibe and I don't care if I never see Tommy Dreamer ever again.
Tna will never excel. It has gotten a little better than it was last year this time. But there's one huge problem. Dixie is a fucking retard

Jeff Hardy took a bit of a bump in that cage match this week.
Spud and H from Steps getting beat up is kinda funny. Eventually they will get their own back and give EC3 a mohawk or something, but I like EC3 messing with them. What is it with TNA's British Boot Camp winners though, they all look like Bash Street Kids. And the names of these guy too, Rockstar Spud and Mandrews. LOL.
The main event Lockdown match looked like something I've seen a million times before. Pretty boring.

LOL. Great, now you've totally killed Mandrews for me. Not that I really cared about him to start with. Totally forgot about Norv and Dewey. It looks like they trying to do that routine with Spud & Andrews instead. I'm just watching it now while writing this post, and Lashley came into the ring and faked being on MVP's side. MVP, remembering that this is TNA and people flipflop every 2 weeks for no reason, bought it. Amused me for some reason. Man, the commentators are pretty funny on this show. I mean, you had an interloper 2 whole minutes into a cage match, and they point out that isn't usually what you expect in a cage match. TNA has a top-5 ranking which they are confused by. They also said they were at ringside, which was simply a lie. They also said that Lockdown was a "sell out" which was dubious at best. Maybe they can hold the next PPV in a phonebooth and "sellout" might be believable. This all happened during the first match. Then during the Roode match they pointed out that the cage has GIGANTIC holes in it for the cameras. They did something genuinely different this week: I can't remember seeing an all-woman hoss match. Eric Young's awesome old music is back. Maybe the best going right now. Angelina and Velvet's little skit reminded me that TNA's 2015 Calendar Cover Girl made it all the way to January 23rd before no longer being part of the company. Have I mentioned recently that TNA is stupid? I mean, the commentators mentioned a lot of the stupid this week, at least they left me one thing to mention being stupid. I would have laughed if Borash had electrocuted himself cutting through the cord of the clippers. Baffling. Why not unplug them first? I really liked this week's episode. There was a lot of wrestling and everything had a purpose. And the right people won each match, which is unusual. But man, still so much TNA-ish stuff to take you out of the moment. I know they've taped a load of episodes in the UK coming up, hopefully having a lively crowd and more than three lightbulbs switched on will help.

I dunno why they don't go to the UK more than once a year. Amazing what having a lively (well-lit) crowd does to things. Good show this week.
Storm randomly namedropping The Undertaker was a bit weird though.

Yeah, TNA should spend more time in the UK. The shows over here the past few weeks have been pretty good. The booking has been simpler than in the past and the matches have been good with less blahing than usual. I am really enjoying the Bram vs Magnus feud. I really like Bram and this feud is making him look like a legit bad man. Drew has been alright since coming in, I just can't really get interested in the BDC. The Spud vs EC3 main event this week was really good. The crowd was totally involved with the match and both guys put on a good show. Got to give them some credit for moving in a more positive direction recently.

Maybe I'm going crazy, but after they got over those first few reboot episodes and got all the face/heel/stable realignments sorted out, these episodes have been really good. I've been thinking the same thing, the booking has been much simpler and they're letting the talent pull it off. This week's show was great. EC3's post-match fake-out was an example of a GOOD swerve.

I haven't been watching. I seem to pop in and out of TNA for a few episodes every couple of months now. They just always lose me so quickly

I'm not sure if the show has got that much worse recently, but being back in the Impact Zone seems to have sucked some of the fun out of the shows for me.
I also have to mention that Khoya (or whatever he's called) is absolutely horrible.

Enter Billy Corgan.
I haven't seen every segment of every episode the last month, but I have been enjoying what I've been seeing. I feel like I have to mention that Taryn Terrell has been a great champion (seeing as I was ragging on her mercilessly back when she was Tiffany). A couple months back she and Kong were having a match and they spilled out into ringside and I thought "this isn't going to end well for Taryn", and sure enough Kong fucking cracked her into the steel steps. So a few weeks ago, when it was Brooke vs Kong, and Kong set up a table I was thinking "if this was Taryn out there, she would be going through the table, but as it's Brooke they'll probably fake-out". And then Taryn came running down ringside and I LOTI'd. And sure enough she got fucking PULVERISED going through the table. She's a hot blonde Jeff Hardy. So I don't blame her for turning heel last episode and forming a stable. Why the fuck not? All these other douchebags have been doing it. Good for her.

Yeah, I also like Taryn. The stable is a bit strange, but hey, whatever.
The BDC's theme music is really horrible. I struggle to take them seriously as it is, but that music just makes things worse.
Eric Young is sort of what Dean Ambrose should be more like. He is all over the place, like a real lunatic.
EC3 and Anderson should be OK for a while until they push EC3 to the title. If booked correctly I think EC3 as champion should be good.

Wow, that's a good call on Eric Young / Dean Ambrose. Would it be a controversial opinion to think Eric Young is just better than Ambrose? Parading around with the fake leg was hilarious this week.
Taryn's stable is certainly a bit odd, but it's pretty clever when you think about it. She picked two lackeys who are capable enough to go in the ring, but aren't as good or as hot as she is. So no chance of being outshone. I can't say I'm totally thrilled with Taryn going the hyper-sexual evil pregnant dog route, yet on the other hand she looked fucking amazing in that getup, so I guess I'm a hypocrite. Also they came out to Doll Parts, which was a pleasant surprise (guess that must be Corgan).
Tenay wasn't quite as terrible with Josh as he was with Taz. Small improvements.
I suppose we shouldn't think too much about how TNA come up with their rankings - at least this time they're not insulting our intelligence like that bullshit with Abyss a few years ago. I like things like rankings, though. Things like this remind us that this is supposed to be a fake sport rather than a TV show about a wrestling company.
