Because I have injured my left arm and it hurts to type. I've been training for an MMA fight, just to say I have been in one, and while working on my (quite frankly, terrible) Muay Thai ripped a muscle in tricep and it hurts to have my arm in the typing position. If anyone wants more details on how I injured myself, I was throwing a left hook at a punching bag and next thing I know I'm on my to the emergency room. So, that's it for me being in an MMA fight, I can't even make it past a punching bag. Feel free to make fun of me, you guys are witty.I'll continue to lurk, but fuck this typing shit for right now.

This is why you're only a B+ message board poster Naitch
Seriously tho, sorry to hear that, tough break. Dr Google is telling me that can take 3+ months recovery time so I guess this must be fucking up your job as well.

My job is an occasional email, I deal with mostly phone calls, so that isn't so bad. It makes driving difficult. My wife had an outpatient surgery not to long ago and a couple of days later we had to pick up more dog food just to realize neither of us could pick up the bag because of my arm and her stitches. We had a weird moment where we had to suck up our pride and call her dad to meet us at the store and move a bag of dog food for us to the car and than inside our house.

Naitch vs Punch Bag. Winner: Punch Bag via TKO. Round 1.
I'm not sure what I find funnier, you getting rekd by an inanimate object, or realising you can't pick up a bag of dog food because of aforementioned ass whuppin' by an inanimate object.
That sucks though Naitch, hope you heal up soon and go after a rematch with Tong Punch Bag.
Remember, you still owe it to us to choke out Bobby Lashley. Don't think we've forgot!

Dude, those are the ones that get us! I honestly can't recall a time I hurt myself lifting heavy weights or doing something very strenuous and taxing, unless I got a spasm or something because I wasn't warmed up properly. Then I can do something simple like sneeze and throw my back out.
I'll never forget the day my back was fucked forever. All during my high school years I powerlifted and I felt like I could conquer anything. Then I got lazy and started doing work leaning over a sink a lot and I remember waking up with my back feeling really tight a lot. I was only 20 yrs old. Then the thing that did me in, I'll never forget it, I was sitting on a pool table and just played a show with my band. My feet were about a foot and a half off the ground. My guitar player said, you ready to start loading the car? I said yes and hopped of the pool table. When my feet hit the ground, I felt a shock wave shoot down to my feet. It was the strangest thing. I wasn't so much in pain as something just felt wrong. Long story short I couldn't stand for 2 days or walk for a week. I didn't get an MRI then but I was seeing a chiropractor. I got it a little stronger in my mid 20s but it started getting really bad again 6 yrs ago and that's when I had it looked at and saw I had the herniated disks.
My point is, I've been fucked for 15 yrs from leaning over a sink and hopping off a pool table. That's what originally screwed my back up for years and years. It has NEVER been 100% since. Did the weightlifting have anything to do with it? I don't know. I was fine when I was doing it. Same with now. It has actually been better since I've been lifting again. But the straw that broke me was leaning over sinks and eventually hitting the ground from 18inches in the air. So honestly, the fact that you busted your tricep hitting a bag isn't a fail in the slightest way to me. Fucking Vince McMahon blew TWO quads just getting in a damn ring! Lol
Sorry to hear it. I know it sucks and fucks with your pride and confidence. But there's nothing to be ashamed of

Thanks for the kind words everyone.
Champ brought up my confidence, and that shit is kind of fucked up. At this point, I just really miss BJJ. But I can't do a lot of things around the house, so I am quickly getting on the wifes nerves. It's all good, I should have full use again by mid January.
