It has been reported that TNA Wrestling is up for sale, and that the Carter family wants to throw the towel in and sell the company to the highest bidder. Some of the rumored names interested in purchasing TNA are Eric Bischoff, Jeff Jarrett, Viacom and possibly the WWE.
Dave Meltzer of The Wrestling Observer revealed the news Sunday on his radio show, and noted that the Carter family have been wanting to get out of the wrestling business for several months now. Their decision comes after they have done all they could with the company, and have not gotten the results they wanted.

I don't dislike the Carter family for what they have done with TNA, they did a lot, the pre-canned PPVs was just an idea that didn't work. I don't like the options of buyers this article listed. If Bischoff buys it, we all know it is going to turn into Hulk and Friends in TNA Part 2.

The Dixie TrainI'd like to see a fresh start. Then again, if it ends up being Bischoff... ugh.

I've always wondered how exactly TNA makes any money, so I am mildly curious to see how much they end up selling for.
Because ultimately, what are you buying? It's just brandnames, talent contracts, TV contracts, some AV kit, and a ring. There's nothing tangible there. If there's no money to be made, then what is all that stuff worth? Do they make more money off their TV contracts than they pay out to their talent (I bet they fucking don't)? They can't even sell some idea of "future growth / potential" because TNA's been around ten years and they'd tried all sorts of shit and nothing's worked.
I'd buy it for a dollar, is what I'm saying.

If TNA is making money they are making it off of tickets, merch, the obvious things.
I read yesterday that Billy Corgan of the Smashing Pumpkins is closest to buying it.

I read the same thing. That's kind of....weird, yet interesting. I mean, who would've thought that the person closest to buying TNA is the lead singer of Smashing Pumpkins? Crazy
