Damien has not won a match since he got the chocolate briefcase.

I think there's a little reverse psychology to it and it seems like they like doing this with the world title mitb.
First off, the world title is basically a glorified intercontinental title. They can pretend its on the same level as the wwe title but we all know its not. I mean, they couldn't have done a better job with making it important with all the years the world title has been the Raw belt during the brand split. But now the world title is basically a midcard title, sometimes even the fucking curtain jerker!
It seems like they use the blue mitb guy to slam dunk a solid midcard line up once a year, meaning they have a bunch of guys with little to no direction beat the mitb guy, then they pull the trigger and give that guy the belt. Now suddenly you got a bunch of viable new contenders for that title.
I noticed since the brand remerge they only do this with the world title mitb guy. But the guy with the red briefcase is fucking unstoppable because he's in line to be THE GUY. So they have to make that guy look good the whole ride up

Yeah, they have really diluted the significance of the WHC the last couple of years. Two years running the WHC match kicked off WrestleMania. One of them lasted 18 seconds and the other involved two guys who nobody really cared about in Del Rio and Swagger. Del Rio holding it so much recently also hasn't helped.

The IC title and US title haven't been important for over 10 years. They need to just officially make the world title the "2nd title" and retire the IC and US belt for good. They are just so diluted and no one cares about them today.
If anything, toss those belts and bring in a tv title and have it defended every raw. They have 3 damn hours. Why not have a little title match to look forward to every week?
And while they're at it, change the divas title back to the women's title. I hate calling them "divas". They may as well call that title, "the spoiled arrogant pregnant dog title". That's what I think of when I hear, diva anyway.
My suggestion is have the wwe title in the top spot like its always been, the world title basically as the intercontinental title, tag titles, and possibly a tv belt. But just get rid of the US and IC titles already. It's just getting hard to watch now

I don't think they need to make it "official", Champ. We all know the World Title is the third most important belt now (#1 being the Being John Cena Title and #2 being the WWE Title). Thing is, it actually feels like an "important" secondary belt in a way the IC and US title haven't been in many years. Put it this way, you can imagine a scenario where John Cena might win the World Title and it not be weird, whereas John Cena is never going to stoop down to win the IC Title.
I also think they use the World Title as the final testing ground before making some a headlining Main Eventer. They gave Daniel Bryan a run with the belt, he exceeded expectations, and now they're giving him a shot at the big time. On the other hand, they gave Sheamus a go at it as a new Face and while he did well it never quite clicked. Ditto Dolph Ziggler.
I do like your idea of dumping the US/IC (what exactly does "inter-continental" mean, anyhow?) titles and just having a TV Title. Maybe 10 successful defenses gets you a World title shot.

Oh you missed what I was saying about the world title being "the second title". I probably could have worded it better too.
I wasnt actually calling the world title the second title in comparison to the wwe title. I was actually comparing it more to the 2013 IC title like "wwe, please stop trying to pretend the IC title is right underneath the main event like it was in the 80s". Lol I basically was saying the world title today is the 2013 IC title. It holds that IC title prestige from 1988. But the 2013 IC title today is just a belt to me. That's it. It sucks.
So my argument is just get rid of the IC and US belts and let the world title carry that legacy, so to speak
I agree with you completely on the wwe/world title analysis.

It's weird, with Cena coming back to win challenge for the World Title, that basically makes it the most important belt again (well #2 behind the "Being John Cena" Title, but you catch my drift).
