I know he's had a serious buzz going on about him for years but I still have to ask, where the fuck have guys like him been all these years?
His selling in the ring is on a level of its own, he's got that roddy piper charisma and CM punk levels of good on the mic.
This is what I've been saying(and lots of other) for years now. Why can't they find more guys like this? This is a man who actually really seems to understand how to do his job right on every level.
So again I ask, where the hell are the dean Ambrose's in this business? The guy is a fucking breath of fresh air out there

Let me ask you a question, good sir. How many people like Dean Ambrose do you think are out there, not in WWE or TNA? People who can wrestle and talk are a rarity. I'd say, for the type of guy your talking about, there are maybe five out there not on TV. Maybe. Off the top of my head there is:
1. Colt Cabana 2. Jimmy Jacobs 3. Jay Briscoe 4. Mark Briscoe 5. Kevin Steen
You might remember Colt as Scotty Goldman and if you have a super good memory you might remember Jimmy Jacobs from jobbing to Eddie a week or so before he died on Smackdown. The Briscoe Brothers have been very public about never working for WWE or TNA, since they also are dog breeders. Kevin Steen has shot knees.
Now, look at everyone that is awesome in the mic and the ring currently in WWE. There aren't that many more on the current roster. The list looks something around Ambrose, Rollins, Punk, Bryan, Kane, Sheamus, ADR, Dolph, Cesaro, Ohno and Jack Swagger if you are feeling generous.
It's just a rare trait, so when an Ambrose does come along, we appreciate that man more.

Yeah, I always wonder this when guys like Zeb Colter come out an deliver the kind of promo Dolph Ziggler could only dream about. Or when someone like Slaughter comes back every now and again and just sounds so much better and more convincing when he's on the mic than 90% of the current roster. When guys like Dolph and Kofi cut promos, I just can't buy what they are selling. They constantly strike me as high school kids pretending to be tough men. Ambrose strikes me as one of those guys who can talk and make you believe in his character. When he talks he manages to achieve that mystique that guys like Piper and Jake Roberts could achieve.
The lack of guys with good mic skills really does puzzle and frustrate me too.

I think you have to blame the material to some extent as well. Case in point: John Cena.

Yeah, back in the day I don't think the promos were as scripted as they are now and the individuals generally had a better opportunity to mould their own characters.
Talking of Ambrose though, I think all members of The Shield have been really solid on the mic so far. Ambrose seems to be going for the Heath Ledger Joker thing, Rollins reminds me a little of S.E.S. Punk, and Roman Reigns just needs to keep yelling "Believe in the Shield!".

For the most part I'm impressed with all 3. Wwe really needed those Guys on the roster. They make me feel like the near future is looking good.

Yeah, all three of them strike me as potential main eventers. Nexus started off very promisingly but it didn't take long for the wheels to start falling off. The Shield have been around for months now I think they are getting better.

That's the difference between shield and nexus. In nexus you had one potential main eventer with a bunch of midcarders and jobbers. The shield has 3 guys who are each looking extremely valuable in their own ways. I'm excited for all 3 to break off on their own at some point

in nexus you had one potential main eventer with a bunch of midcarders and jobbers. Yeah, and Ryback only lasted about 3 weeks before getting injured. Nexus were doomed. It's looking like The Shield are gonna be getting Brogue-RKO-Punched at WrestleMania. I really hope they win though.

and for the record, when I said one potential main eventer, I meant, I still don't look at Ryback as a main eventer. To me he's just a guy with a rocket up his ass but doesn't have what Ambrose and Reigns have. I think Rollins even has a brighter future in the longrun even though he's kind of being outshined by Reigns and Ambrose

I feared Reigns and Ambrose might outshine Rollins at the beginning but I don't think it has happened. I see all three of them as equally strong. Some of Rollins' mic work has been really good.
