If that were to happen today the idiot crowd would have probably whatted him out of the building between all the long pauses.
I only watched WCW now and then back in the day. There was a guy at my school who watched it every week and yapped about what Sting was doing, and what happened to Lex Luger, etc. I just didn't want to hear it. I just wanted him to shut the fuck up. He's probably the reason I didn't give WCW more of a chance.

It's funny, every so often I suddenly realise that something was "a really long time ago now", as opposed to being just "a while back". The genesis of the nWo is now officially a really long time ago now. It's been ten sodding years since they showed up in WWF. In fact, that whole late-90s boom is a really long time ago now, and nothing's come along since that has really caught fire.

Yeah it's actually kind of scary the older you get. I remember in the late 90s, 15 years previous in the early 80s seemed ancient. Now today, it seems like the mid/late 90s were pretty recent but that's 15 years ago now. The kids that are in their teens today probably look at Stone Cold is a crippled old bastard from the fossil days. Damn where's the time going?

It's funny, they pointed out on Smackdown this week that it was 14 years since Kane was WWE champion. Really?! lol

Yeah, he held it for 24hrs. Won it at a PPV and lost it to Austin the next night on RAW. Must have been about 1998 now you mention it. Yep.

Then you ask to yourself, Kane's been around 15 years? Who would've ever thought the retard brother of Taker would've lasted this long as the retard brother of Taker? I figured Kane would've been a guy that Taker ended within 6 months and they just would've repackaged him
What's also crazy is I remember clear as day when the Undertaker debuted. I was 11 years old and watching Survivor Series in my parents bedroom since it was the only place we could hook up the cable box. I remember the whole hype about who Ted Dibiase's mystery partner was going to be and then Taker came out with Brother Love. That was almost 22 years ago! WTF? lol

LOL. I remember the Undertaker from when he made his debut but not as vividly as you Champ. I actually remember Kane's debut very vividly. Badd Blood in 1997 (could have been 1996) if I remember correctly. "That... that must be Kane!". It was so awesome seeing this long lost brother of the Undertaker track him down and destroy him. He turned out to be a BRR, but oh well. I must have been about 12 or 13 and stayed up through the night to watch it. Then everyone was talking about it at school for the rest of that week.

Holy shit, this thread makes me feel old. Kane, NWO, Austin, all that shit is still fresh in my head. Like it happened yesterday. The only thing that seems really awesome since then is Nexus debut and the beginning of the Main Event Mafia/Front Line angle.

Man, every time someone reminds me about Nexus I get annoyed.
I read recently that the writers are under pressure from Vince to come up with a blockbuster summer angle like NEXUS or Punk's promo, and you wonder what's the point, they're just going to fuck it up.
My suggestion: Undertaker heel turn. Have him take a few midcarders and some newcomers like Cesaro and Hunico under his wing. He scares Big Johnny into giving him control of Smackdown. I guess you can't do the Satanism thing again because of the PG rating, but you could still do a hocus pocus angle. A "you may never get to touch the master, but you can tickle his creatures" angle leading up to Taker's Wrestlemania match would be fun.

A "you may never get to touch the master, but you can tickle his creatures. Am I the only one that wants to see Otunga and Ceasaro in a match where the winner is the first person to tickle the other one?

I'm not opposed to a Taker heel turn. I just don't know how WWE could get away with a Taker heel turn. Even if he was the top heel in the company the entire universe would still be cheering for him at Wrestlemania. The streak is like the most important fan favorite thing in the world right now. I heard some wrestlers say the streak is bigger than the world titles now as far as prestige. I believe that

15 Years Ago Today (Yesterday actually)
"This is what World Championship Wrestling is ALL about"
Truer words have never come from a wrestling commentator's mouth.

That was the same night Mankind won the WWF title on RAW. WCW really shot themselves in the foot that night.
