No, he is the best comedian ever.
I don't think there's a single guy who does standup that doesn't credit Pryor with at least having some influence on their career.
Seriously, how many people light themselves on fire and then go and make a 10 minute routine based on it?

Richard Pryor is defiantly in the top two stand up comedians. Depending on how you ask. I think Carlin is better but both are legendary.
Unless we are talking about my girlfriends dad with the same name. Hes not that funny.

Chapelle I believe was the best comedian out today before he disappeared and he said Pryor(an Carlin for that matter Naitch) were 2 of his biggest influences. Paul Mooney is too. I've never seen his standup. Only what he's done on Chappelle's show

For the best comedians today I would have to say Daniel Tosh, Dave Attell, Jim Norton, Bob Saget, Ralphie May, Rich Voss, Louis CK, David Cross, Bobcat Goldthwait and Katt Williams are the tippy top of the food pile. And even if he isn't really making jokes I like you can't deny the staying power of Jeff Foxworthy. The dude evolved and is more then redneck jokes now.
For the best comics of yesteryear (and this is kind of hard to judge, you had to really understand the times of when most of these jokes were made)
George Carlin (70 and still funny)
Red Fox (Seriously, this dude was just genius.)
Bill Cosby
Richard Pryor
Rodney Dangerfield (in my mind the epitomy of timing on every word and movement)
Sam Kinnison (Who else can just yell through a whole set and not make it annoying?)

Yeah it was like two months ago when HBO aired it. I'm not sure how you guys get it but I laughed pretty hard. Espically when he was talking about other peoples kids.

I don't really watch TV that much now but I'll search the internet to see if I can find it. Not today though, because I've already searched for porn twice and indulged in some mindless browsing. I'm not giving the internet the RESPECT!! that it deserves.

And that dude has not made a funny joke on his own. I've seen him rip off a lot of comedians like Bill Cosby and Louis CK. And Louis CK has this funny bit you can find on youtube about finding shit in his infant daughters vagina. |
