They hung around for a while.
Apparently my grandmother on my dad's side and her brothers and sisters were the oldest living set of brothers and sisters in Britain at one point. My great-grandfather must have really been a genetic jackhammer.

The thing I hate about these stories is every time a 114 year old dies, some 112 year old inherits the title of next-to-croak. Imagine its your grandma and all you can look forward to is losing them.

It wasn't that they were 100 years old and ancient, but they were the oldest group of siblings in terms of their combined ages. My grandmother was one of the youngest. So, her age combined with the ages of the others added up to a higher combined number than any other group of siblings. I'm not sure about the exact numbers, but I've heard about it now and again for years from various family members. The members of clan McMasterSnit don't go down without a fight!

MasterSnit's grandparents are the Cenas of not dying.

I see what you're saying. It's kind of like how Andre the Giant, Akeem, and Big Bossman were the heaviest 3 man tag team in WWF history, but neither man was the the heaviest of all time

Yeah, that's it.
The oldest person I've known is my great-grandmother on my mum's side. She was 91 when she died.

My friend's grandmother just past away at 96 a few weeks ago.
I remember when I was a kid, my landlord's mother died at 104. I don't know if I recall knowing anyone older than that
