I bought some CDs over the weekend and I think you guys might like these. The first one I think you both will like. Its from the band Puscifer (IE: Maynard James Kennan having fun in the studio) and the name of the CD is V is for Vagina. Don't go in expecting Tool but just something different and its awesome. Thanks to the power of youtube here are the stand out tracks to me. Momma Sed www.youtube.com/watch?v=t4HI2ylVmOARev 22:20 www.youtube.com/watch?v=1o4Voh0X1ds&feature=relatedThe second one I found is more for Champ. Cavalera Conspiracy album Inflikted. Its Max and Igor Cavalera's first album together in a decade and damn these boys are still pissed off. Some of the tracks seem perfect to work out too, they are just so brutal and the guitar work is awesome. Again thanks to youtube. Ultra Violent www.youtube.com/watch?v=B3RzSC9AOjMSanctuary (the first single) www.youtube.com/watch?v=rIj3kpPYh1M&feature=related

I liked the first Puscifier song. It had a really cool riff and beat yet laid back. I didn't really care for the second one.
As for Cavalera and Sanctuary, Cavalara I totally was digging but I couldn't really get into Sanctuary. Sanctuary was too speedy for me. I listen to the heaviest bands in the world as long as they have cool drum beats. To me Hardcore is all about the drums. I don't really care for songs with constant speed beats. I need something to move my head to. But the first Puscifier song and the Cavalera song I totally dug

A lot of Inflikted is just like a jam session made into a CD but Igor does do a lot of awesome drumming. I mean hes been with Seplatura for like 20 years. There are some rad guitar solos too Champ, I know you have to be missing those these days.

I have a lead guitarist in my band and it's the first real deal soloist I've ever been in a band with and it's like a breath of fresh air

That automatically makes your band better then every band on the radio right now. Have you guys still been playing a lot of shows?
Back to the CC though, Max just churns out the solos like it ain't no ones business. Seriously, the first awesome solos since Dimebag did the album with Damageplan. You can pretty much check out both albums on youtube.

My guitarist and singer have been doing acoustic shows. I had a real bad adverse affect to some mood stabilizer I was on and I couldn't play shows or work out for the past month. I'm finally starting to feel like myself again and hopefully we're going to record a 12 song disc very soon. It's definitely going to happen. I think they are waiting on me to get better. But I'm not up to doing shows right now. All I care about are my tracks for the album because that's what's going to really matter in the long run. I don't believe in playing bullshit local shows anymore. You don't get discovered that way like you did 30 years ago. Back in the 70's they way to get discovered was by playing out. Now with the internet, coming up with images for bands, and finding one hit wonders, the key to getting signed is so different now. It's all about sending your recorded material to record companies while surfacing yourself on the internet. It's a lot easier to get yourself heard around the world just sitting behind a computer than actually touring. I wish my band understood that because I'm the only one who doesn't find the shows important. I've been through it already. I've played with a great heavy pop rock band in the village of NYC so many times. Record people don't even bother checking out the bands anymore. It's all computers now. No one appreciates live music anymore either unless it's all shit they've heard. This business really sucks. That's why I just want to cut the album and see if we get any bites on myspace or or the other sites we are affiliated with. In the meantime we could send it to record companies. If it's done professional they'll at least give it a chance
