So on May 20th, the following things happened to TNA Wrestling
1. Destination America cancelled TNA Impact, starting in September. This is weird to me since it is their highest rated show. Essentially it boils down to TNA having less than 3.5 months to find a new TV home. If they can't they are probably done.
2. Eric and Garrett Bischoff and Wayne from the Wonder Years are suing TNA for $100,000, for money owed. $13,002 of this is because of what they owe Garrett Bischoff. I seriously hope the defense used by TNA's lawyers is "they don't even pay their employees they currently have, what makes you think your getting paid?"

Lol Wayne from the Wonder Years. I forgot he was involved with TNA.
Seriously this company is like a family member that has been brain dead for too long and Dixie refuses to take them off life support. They either need to go bankrupt or find a real serious investor that is willing to pay their debts and completely reboot the company. I feel like even that is beating a dead horse. I'm straight up starting to feel sorry for them

I saw a good point made elsewhere: the alternative to WWE has been made... by WWE. NXT doesn't really feel like a feeder league any more, it now feels like a small-market MLB team that has to keep promoting rookies because it loses its better players to the Yankees and Dodgers. So it is not surprising any more to see guys like Samoa Joe show up on NXT, even the Tampa Bay Rays can afford a veteran or two to fill out the roster. It's not a step down, it's an alternative.
This whole TNA fiasco is going to make an amusing movie one day. Better than the WCW one that nobody's made yet.
I've read a story on a newz site that says Dixie accidentaly CC'ed the network head into an e-mail in which she called the network head an idiot. Maybe it's bullshit. Then you remember that it has apparently happened before.
For some reason I'm reminded of that episode of the Simpsons where they ban TV, and Krusty the Clown starts broadcasting from a shack in the middle of the desert, using batteries and scorpions as props. That is where TNA is going to be broadcasting from next, I guess.

I don't think Dixie was a fan of this day, either. Destination America have picked up Ring Of Honor, and will be airing it directly before Impact. And ROH have been using AJ Styles as one of their advertised stars. Oops.

Styles is bigger than Lethal, but it's debatable if he is bigger than Joe. If I wan in TNA currently, I would be looking for a way to jump ship right now, considering last week Destination America decided to play a PPV from over a year ago instead of Impact. I think it will be interesting to see if Destination America also picks up Global Force Wrestling since they have been loud for about a year now (despite nothing really to show for it, outside a handful of house shows, where a sizable chunk of the talent is being under ROH contract.) I'm not ready to say TNA is dead, but this looks a lot like the last year of ECW at this point.

Austin Aries, James Storm and Magnus are all leaving after tonight's PPV - although they have taped 2 months of TV first. That isn't even an exaggeration. That's 3 former world champions for ya. Gunner and Sam Shaw have also been given their releases. And Kurt Angle apparently needs surgery and will be out for a while.
It's looking pretty depressing at this point. It seems to be death by a thousand cuts rather than one big implosion. I can't be arsed to do it now, but it would be interesting see how much turnover there's been in the last two years (we're almost at the 2-year anniversary of Chris Sabin winning the Title).
I am wondering if Jarrett randomly showing up means TNA (or at least, what's left of it) will fold into GFW?

It's like a wounded animal with rabies at this point. Just pull the trigger already

Maybe TNA can afford a table, plop Virgil in front of it and than raise money that way.

In other nails in the coffin of this company, apparently TNA had to scrap a bunch of footage that they taped because Hernandez is in it. Apparently they took him at face value when he said he could work for them, despite being under contract with Lucha Underground. This caused dudes like MVP to leave TNA. Lawyers, man, you gotta use lawyers.
TNA has also not paid some of the production staff, and when they complained to the media, fired them, without paying them. It's shit like this that makes me not give a shit about TNA as a company. I want them to survive, more work for the wrestlers, but this is dumb behavior that is probably indicative that the bank account is running dry.

Man, you think that's bad Naitch - read the latest tranche of Impact spoilers. I dare you. Will I be mentioning recently that TNA is stupid? Because there's a whole lot of stupid on the way.

I think I'm going to watch Impact for however long it is around now. Just so I can see the last days of a desperate company trying to keep it's head above water. I'm not sure where to find spoilers for upcoming shows unless it is the day after, but I have no doubt (just from doing the W/L thread) that whatever is on the horizon will not entertain me now that I am in the right frame of mind.
Edit a couple of hours later- Found the spoilers and I changed my mind, this company can die without me. Corporate take over by GFW, orchestrated by Karen Jarrett just made my eyes bleed.

Your comment made me laugh a lot when I read it yesterday, because I went through the same thought process. Your read on and things become increasingly idiotic. TNA is on life support, so what do they do? Something (anything!) different? No, the same old shit they've been doing that got them into this mess in the first place. Authority figures! Invasions! Weird gimmick matches! Stupid heel turns!
Edit, 12 hours later: Oh man, I read the spoilers for the shows taped last night. Gets even better (dumber)! Apparently Bigfoot shows up in the crowd during an X Division match. Thanks TNA, I'm going to be laughing all day about that.

V, I had trouble coming back to this thread because I don't feel like TNA cares enough about us (fans of wrestling), so why should we care back? I am probably super wrong, and they do care, and I shouldn't be judging books by covers and whatnot. I think what really brought me back to the DCATTHNGD thread is, I wanted to make a list of everyone that thought they needed to take over TNA. So here is everything off the top of my head. 1. Dixie Carter (Successful) 2. Main Event Mafia (Not Successful) 3. Aces and 8s (Not successful, BTW, is there a name that screams Eric Bischoff creation more than Aces and 8s?) 4. Immortal (Not Successful) 5. MVP and some friends (Not successful) 6 Mick Foley I think also bought majority shares, but I'm not positive on this one. 7. Jeff Jerrett with some dudes like Brodus Clay (TBD) At least 6 take over attempts in 12 years. Most of them in the second half of their life so far. Compare that to the 2 attempts in WWE. I'm not even sure if people count the ECW in 97 one since it was so short lived and they really got a total of 1.5 Raw's worth of air time. The actual Invasion angle was cool with me, I loved it during the time despite knowing who would win (not the side that brought Kronik and Buff Bagwell to the fight).

Well WWE is a billion dollar company, whereas TNA... is not. I suppose in that sense a "corporate takeover" is a more viable proposition. It's easier to steal candy from a baby than rob a bank. I don't know why I'm fanwanking the absurd number of takeovers TNA have tried, but here we are.
Would you count Nexus for WWE? Wasn't Steve Austin owner of WWF for a few weeks?
If you ever wanted proof (and you didn't, it was already obvious) that they have no ideas, then just look at these recent tapings. Rather than doing the same things over and over again, they should have taken a step back and thought, "what are we trying to do here". And there's two ways you can go - either you're trying to present a fake sport, trying to build interest in marquee matchups, or you're a weekly TV show about a wrestling promotion (where you can play fast and loose with laws of reality, much like a zombie show or a sitcom). If you're committing to doing the latter, then just do something fucking different! Use your imagination. god.

I didn't include Nexus. Where they trying to take over the company, in my memories they were just trying to hurt people. A lot of people have had control of the company, but I don't remember like full take over angles. It was more like feud with Vince angles. Austin, Flair and Foley I know for sure all had similar angles, but there are probably more.
