I watched Smackdown for the first in a year or two and I got to say, nothing happened at all. It was just like two hours. With a good chance of the worst match award of 2013 already having a nominee. Khali/Natty/Hornswoggle vs Epico/Primo/Rosa was atrocious.

Champ from the other thread said:
SPOILER
Apparently, WWE.com broke the spoiler news and announced that Alberto Del Rio beat Big Show at the Smackdown tapings to become the new World Heavyweight Champion. That's pretty interesting. I wonder where they are going with that leading to mania. I'm imagining that Dolph will cash in on Del Rio and they will feud. But where does that leave the World title scene at mania? You would think Sheamus or Orton would have something to do with that. I think Sheamus and Ziggler for the World title at mania would be lackluster. Same with Orton vs. Del Rio, unless Orton turns heel? But where does that leave Sheamus? lol
Que? Alberto murders Santa Claus to become a face, and two weeks later he becomes World Champion?
I hate spoilers and now WWE are doing it on their own site.
Now sure where it leaves things going into WrestleMania, but it looks like Sheamus and Orton will be feuding so I'd imagine that would be their preferred title match.

SPOILER
WWE putting spoilers on their own site is very strange. I guess they think more people will tune in knowing they'll see something unsual happen, but how many other TV shows advertise the ending or a big twist in advance?
I'm pre-emptively bored by the prospect of a Sheamus vs Orton feud, even though the matches will probably be really good.

They have spoiled there own title changes before. I can think of at least twice now. Once a year or two ago and once in like 2007.

Khali/Natty/Hornswoggle vs Epico/Primo/Rosa was atrocious. I didn't see that match, but I did see this week's Khali/Natty vs Ziggler/AJ match, which was so ungodly bad that AJ apparently felt the need to rescue it by lifting up her top, and then having Big E kill Hornswoggle. On the other hand, Orton vs Cesaro was going along nicely until the usual finish. Cesaro's funny "I love America but hate Americans" shtick is pretty sharp for WWE. I got a little bit fed up that the first thing Rock did was point out his celebrity pal in the audience. Sandow getting in his face was fun but man did that go on way too long. Oh, and pointing out that Rock hadn't been on Smackdown in 10 years? Way to make me feel old, assholes. I could say something ridiculous like "they should turn Rock heel", but it would never stick.

Smackdown was pretty good despite the spoilers
I did enjoy the Rock/Sandow/Rhodes segment......I'm a grown man! If I want to grow a mustache I'll grow a mustache!
I'm starting to get Aces and Eights syndrome with the Shield now too. It feels like it's just the same shit twice a week. Rabid dog attack followed by triple powerbomb.
I am SO bored with Randy Orton it's not even funny
This is Big Show's best heel run. It's the first time I actually feel like he's got some personality and character as a heel
Sheamus may be the most solid top face we've had in years. He's just likable on so many levels. He's like the type of guy you want to go have a beer and laugh with. But, if a fight started you'd also thank God he's on your side.
Even though Smackdown was ok, I feel like WWE or just Wrestling in general, needs a new revolution of some sorts. It just feels like it's been treading water for a really long time.

It's quite telling that nobody has posted in the SmackDown thread for about two months. It has been pretty poor in recent times and RAW has been kicking its ass.
That being said, I thought last week's show was decent.
Maddox on commentary is a good addition.
The Shield kicking ass is always good. Roman Reigns was like a rabid werewolf leaping out from the fog the way he just appeared out of nowhere, howled and broke Sheamus in two. Something tells me Ryback will still take on Mark Henry at WrestleMania. Big Show might end up tagging with Sheamus and Orton, and knock them out for initially shunning him.
Kaitlyn got a new theme. I'm really going to miss her previous one. That was great. Layla sure is taking her time when it comes to her shocking heel turn on Kaitlyn.
Fandango was good again messing with Khali. It would have been funny if Khali ended up being the one to pronounce his name correctly. Only for Fandango to go down there and wreck him.
Kane kicking Big Tits Langston in the face also gave me a good laugh.

I actually caught a bit of Smackdown this week.
It feels like I've seen Rock do that exact same routine half-a-dozen times now with half-a-dozen different gallery ducks. Seeing Johnny come back was incredibly bizarre just a few days after Mastersnit started that thread.
I'm officially on board with Fandango (and his foxy valet). I love the idea of a flamboyant dancer gimmick actually being a killer. I hope he has a good match with Jericho and beats him at Wrestlemania.
Kaitlyn barrelling over AJ was fun.
Don't care about ADR and Swagger. 0 Shits Given.
I guess the Shield are shielding Cena from all of his heir apparents (Ryback, Orton, Sheamus) by keeping them occupied while Cena has his eyes on the prize. I suppose you're going to tell me they attacked Cena at some point.

I hope after WrestleMania is over with they start to focus on SmackDown a little more.
The Del Rio - Swagger feud has fizzled out already, before WrestleMania. I tried to get interested in it, but I just can't. I give a negative fuck about this feud.
I don't want there to be any higher purpose to what the Shield are doing. I like them on their own, just as they are. I can see any of the three guys on the other team turning heel during that match, and hopefully they do, because I really want the Shield to win.

I can't be arsed to go and find the exact post, but there was a smackdown a few years ago where Triple H interrupted MVP and... I want to say Kennedy and sarcastically told them he was going to "do a promo", and generally acted like a dick.
I was reminded of that after watching a clip of him gatecrashing MizTV on Smackdown this week. He really is a hilarious douchebag. Also, this act works a lot better as a Heel than a Face.
"Hey Dolph, I'm sure you want to get revenge against the Shield, so this week you'll be going ONE-ON-ONE... against all three members of the Shield"

One thing I'm happy with about wwe right now is I feel that they finally are getting all their rightful heels and faces in order.
Trips and orton are already better heels. I feel like orton finally evolved into what he was too green to be in evolution, and I agree with you V, trips is great at being a self righteous corporate douche.
I actually like big show better as a face. He's great at being the lovable giant
I hate Alberto but he was worse as a face. So I'm glad he's heel again
I'm totally digging face ziggler and I actually I am starting to like miz as a face, but with a purpose finally
Cody has potential as a face too
I feel so hypocritical saying this but I LOVE heel ryback lol. THE BIG GUY!! When he was face he came off as a bully. But now that he's heel he's a full blown cowardly piece of shit and its fucking golden
"If theres one thing the big guy doesn't like, it's a bully......see ya out there, shrimp." Classic! They couldn't have done a better job at modifying rybacks gimmick
I actually enjoyed smackdown this week. I liked the shield on their own but I guess they had their destructive run and proved themselves. May as well make them corporate and just strengthen the entire herd. Randy and the shield all benefit from each other
