Our manager was the school janitor, and every training session and game was us just doing whatever we wanted. The janitor was too busy getting drunk on the job down in the boiler room or just standing about, happily farting like a son of a pregnant dog. We still managed to win a trophy though despite that MS. I also remember punting the ball onto your head for a couple of goals so can't be that bad sometimes ![;)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/wink.png)

Yeah, we definitely had our moments. Maybe with some better teaching we could have played even better. Like win some more trophies, and avoid situations where you would get hammered in the face with the ball every single match. That was like a running gag every single game, lol. Also, when we did win that tournament it was on a smaller pitch. I always found it far more enjoyable playing in those environments, especially when we were younger.

I am so glad England lost to the Netherlands the other day. Having come back from 2-0 down to beat Germany in Berlin, we needed to get taken down a peg before all the morons in this country started bloviating about how Engurhland are gonna win the cup. I will say... we have got some good players this time round, presuming Hodgson actually fucking picks them instead of lumping Rooney in the team on crutches. They should make the QF. Thing is, there are 4 knockout rounds, I can't see them winning 4 in a row. SF would be a great result.
Also I saw Scotland had a couple of really good results, Mastersnit - beating Denmark and Czech Republic. That's some really good preparation for them in advance of the Euros. I don't really follow the Scottish league, but I'm sure Dundee United are doing OK too.

![](http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-SPp-r93WTbA/UZk1J7FFNhI/AAAAAAAAL7o/UG19Yzh300g/s1600/haha-shut-up.gif) No, that's some top notch trolling right there, V. LOL. I don't know what the hell has happened to United this season. They actually won today so they still have a slim chance of crawling out of the mess they are in. Even if they finish 11th though, they still have to win a 2-leg playoff. It's not looking good. As for Scotland, I was hopeful for a while. Ireland ruined it for us by beating Jobbermany. Us and the Dutch can just kick back and relax this summer. I heard "it's coming home" after the Germany result. I agree England should go ahead and just let their younger and in-form players run wild at the tournament. Why not just go out there and give it a go? They have some really promising attacking options right now so they should play to their strengths. Also, I bet after all the hype, Wales go out there and get hammered in the group stages.

In all seriousness Mastersnit, I was vaguely aware that Dundee Utd were not having a good season, but I didn't realise they were dead last until I saw a table in the paper yesterday. That's when I put on my hard hat and said "I've got some trolling to do".

England almost became world champions at the T20 Cricket World Cup recently. The West Indies needed 19 runs from the final over to win and the batsman walloped the first 4 deliveries for sixes. I tried explaining it to someone who is unfamiliar with cricket and likened it to England losing a penalty shoot-out in a tournament, with the only difference being the players wouldn't be hated on nearly as much as the footballers would. It's funny how predictable it is though. Before the tournament Harry Kane will be the one to lead England to glory, and when he misses a couple of sitters in the first knockout stage he will be a jobber who must be ridiculed.
There's more chance of Reading making the playoffs than there is of Dundee United staying up. That's the best I've got. Lol.

I know everyone is making a big deal out of Leicester City winning the Premier League, and to be sure it is a great achievement. But for me, it is only the 2nd-greatest sporting upset of all time. The 1st being when a bunch of plucky losers came back from the dead to beat a much mightier foe and secure the greatest achievement in their history. I have found footage of the event below: www.veoh.com/watch/v20419296e5zrRf5p

LOL! What makes it worse is that the whole stadium, players, coaches and fans alike all celebrated like it was some huge achievement.
So Dundee United did get relegated. The final blow coming in a 2-1 defeat to city rivals Dundee F.C. who scored a last minute winner to put us down. Great times.
So who is going to win the Euros? I'm going with Spain. 3 in a row.

I don't think I'll ever not laugh at that clip of Scotland going bonkers at beating Liechtenstein.
I think Liechtenstein and Scotland are the only teams not in the Euros this time round. It feels like a bit of a slog - maybe the finals should just be a straight knock-out?
Anyway, England played well against Russia only to job a goal in the last minute, and then only beat Wales after Vardy and Sturridge did a run-in. A win and a draw and they're already virtually through. Cumbersome tournament.
Of course, the best moment was watching Ronaldo miss a penalty.

I'm not really a fan of this 3rd place team goes through (maybe) prize. It's like rewarding Watford with a Champions League spot for finishing 14th and maintaining a decent goal difference. Some of the games have been poor because I think a lot of them in the first couple of games were trying so much harder not to lose than they were trying to win. I thought this cartoon summed up the overblown tournament we have this time. ![](https://i.guim.co.uk/img/media/52d1917cdda3d77c3740d0299eba5e5db7f8d7d6/7_43_1987_3377/master/1987.jpg?w=940&q=55&auto=format&usm=12&fit=max&s=00c02963381e4e324d010dca6e6363aa) Lost City of Atlatis vs Croydon. LOL. Hopefully things get a bit better now that we've got to the last 16.

Some of the games have been poor because I think a lot of them in the first couple of games were trying so much harder not to lose than they were trying to win. I think I've said before that they might as well let everyone take part in the finals. For this tournament it took nearly two years to reduce the number of teams from 53 down to 24. Then another two weeks to reduce 24 to.... 16. Really dumb. If you had 8 groups of 6, top 2 go through then the Finals would be a week longer but then you don't have to have a qualifying process so the domestic season could be a month shorter. Portugal drew all three of their games and went through. After Iceland scored a late winner to beat Austria, one of the pundits said something to the effect of "what a great reward for Iceland... getting to play England". I don't think we'll ever learn. England should beat Iceland but Iceland will - rightly - fancy their chances. It really is absoultely amazing how the draw has shaken out. I can totally see Wales getting to the final.

Good idea. The Qualifying really drags.
Well, they weren't wrong.
I couldn't believe how England managed to let themselves get mugged like that after taking the lead. It's as if they remembered they were supposed to muck things up so everyone could get their pitchforks out. Can't help but feel sorry for the players to some extent. They know they are always one step away from ridicule and scorn, and that must weigh on their minds. I thought if they didn't get a second goal before half time they might bottle it in the second half and Iceland would hold on. You have to admit though, Iceland did play well.
I think Belgium will beat them. I think Belgium might get to the final from that side of the draw, and Germany will get through from the other half. Then we all know what happens after that.
