Get well soon, Brock
Brock Lesnar, the Ultimate Fighting Championship's heavyweight champion, has been diagnosed with a "serious" illness and expects to be out of action for an extended period, according to a Yahoo Sports report.
Contacted today by The Times, UFC owner Lorenzo Fertitta would say only that the organization is granting Lesnar's request for privacy.
The Yahoo story, quoting UFC President Dana White from a Saturday event in Manchester, England, reported that Lesnar recently collapsed in Canada and returned home to learn he had a health problem beyond his previous diagnosis for mononucleosis.
Lesnar had to pull out of his scheduled fight Saturday at UFC 106 in Las Vegas and the UFC's Jan. 2 card versus Shane Carwin.
“It’s bad,” White told Yahoo's Dave Meltzer. “It’s real bad. I am worried about it. I can’t really talk about it right now, but [Lesnar] is in rough shape.”
The UFC has been ravaged by illness and injury in recent weeks. Heavyweight Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira pulled out of his Jan. 2 main event versus Cain Velasquez because of a staph infection, middleweight champ Anderson Silva is out with elbow pain, and welterweight champion Georges St-Pierre was hurt in his most recent fight.

Yeah, I heard about this over the weekend. Sketchy details, but hopefully he's not out too long.

Now they're saying it's an intestinal issue that will likely require surgery.
I wish him the best and hopefully he'll recover to fight again. This sucks in every conceivable sense.

Brock strikes me as a guy who would have a positive attitude during a situation like this and that goes a long way.

In an interview with TMZ.com, UFC boss Dana White confirmed that Heavyweight champion Brock Lesnar is headed to the Mayo Clinic and will require major surgery. White wouldn't elaborate much on Lesnar's condition, but has ruled out cancer. White said Lesnar has an intestinal disorder.
White said in the interview that he is attempting to get Lesnar transferred to the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota. Lesnar is presently in a North Dakota hospital.
White also said that there was a "possibility" that Lesnar's career is over.
He just needs Linda Mcandroid to kick him in the balls and it will all come out.

By what little has been said, it wouldn't surprise me if he has some sort of brain condition. For example, if it is a tumour, even if it is removed he would be advised not to fight again (taking blows to the head).

sports.espn.go.com/extra/mma/news/story?id=4661873&campaign=rss&source=ESPNHeadlinesBISMARCK, N.D. -- UFC heavyweight champion Brock Lesnar is suffering from a bacterial infection in his intestinal tract. UFC president Dana White spoke with Lesnar on Monday and said he could be released from the hospital soon. Asked if he was in a Bismarck hospital, White said, "I think he is," but did not want to say which hospital because he wanted to protect Lesnar's privacy. White said he is encouraging Lesnar to check into the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minn., for further treatment. White also said he does not know if the 32-year-old South Dakota native will fight again. Bismarck's St. Alexius hospital said Lesnar was not a patient there. The other hospital in the city Medcenter One, would not confirm or deny he was there. - At least it's not something super-serious, although a bacterial infection is nothing to take lightly. I hope Brock takes Dana's advice and checks into a Mayo Clinic. Those people can work wonders and maybe stop this from happening again.

Brock underwent a minor procedure on his colon and is feeling better. "He took it in the ass! And now he's happy. All he needed was a good hard dick!" That should be his next opponent's promo on Brock. I read somewhere that his condition isn't as bad as some feared and that he should be able to get back to full health and fitness.
